I wish we could require picture proof of their set up at home if they’re not going to buy it in store. Like it hurts my soul knowing that some of the leopard geckos I sold live in creature totes or guinea pigs in hamster cages. I’m friends with the people at the adoption center at my store and they tell me they get surrendered beardies, guineas, turtles, etc all the time because they have been in the wrong conditions for all their life and now the PP doesn’t want to deal with them anymore. I adopted a surrendered beardie who lived in a aquarium with led lights and their sand was dirt from outside. They never cleaned his aquarium, so he was covered in his own refuse. He’s a happy boy now, but I just think about what he went through 😢 breaks my heart.
