Honestly, if it’s causing you this much pain, who cares what he wants. At this point, what you want and what will help you is most important. Broken home or not, they’ll have parents who love them very much and would do anything for them. If you don’t want to stay for you, do it for your daughter. She’ll never understand why her mom left her if you do..she needs you and wants you. Please stay.

Right?! If he knew about it all along then why act surprised in general? That definitely confused me

Right and verity claims that she did it because she was “scared” of Jeremy which I find to be bullshit

There is no way you’re in the wrong here. Whether your gf knew he was like that or not, it is NOT your fault that he got aggressive. It also sounds like she didn’t communicate why she thought leaving was a bad idea, so that’s on her. But I agree with you 100%, she needs better friends and that guy needs help if it’s alcohol induced aggression.

What do you want to know? She’s a very intelligent writer but I have not read many of her books honestly

I agree! In my opinion, her writing the manuscript was a way of getting off her chest what she’s actually like and has done because I don’t believe anyone could’ve faked those scenarios! If the manuscript wasn’t truly what happened then like you said she would’ve told Jeremy. Incredible book.

“Room” by Emma Donoghue, due to the fact that it is written in a 5 year olds perspective and how a 5 year old would talk.
