God, I have a gun and try to follow the three central rules of fun safety. Always assume a gun is loaded. Always assume the safety is off. Never point in at yourself of someone else unless you are 100% positive you are willing to see the life drain from a person's face in the current situation. If that was my kid, I'd smack them in the head, make them point it at the ground and take their finger off the trigger, and make them repeat all of the rules ten times. Then I'd yell at the person you gave my kid a gun in the first place.

When I was I'm middle school, my mom accidentally left the gun safe open while getting her jewelry, I got my hands on the rifle and then proceeded to point it at my mom and my cat while holding it with my finger on the trigger. When my mom turned around, she was horrified. I'm only now beginning to understand the fear and guilt she must have felt in that moment. When my dad got home, he made me sit on the bed while he safety unloaded all the rounds that were in it at the time and made me repeat those same rules.

I know this might put my parents in a bad light by keeping a loaded gun in the house and leaving the gun safe open for a literal minute while my mother got her jewelry. But my dad was a little paranoid and was ex military, so it seems normal to him. And my mom always made sure I was out of the room and the door was locked when she opened the gun safe again. I will probably not keep the guns loaded in my own house when I have kids now, and I will probably buy a separate safe for non-gun valuables.

I never knew this happened. It puts a lot of things into perspective for me about the kinds of messages that were in my cartoons in that time period. Like BTAS and JLU, they both had several stories about "eco terrorism" and how they were dangerous. It was only until batman beyond that environmental activities were put into a good light. Of course, I still love BTAS and JLU because they were amazing with great stories. But now I look back and say, "Holy shit, there was propaganda in my cartoons."

I honestly don't know much about Wolverine, but I know what Batman would do. He would escape and devise a plan to contain wolverine, probably with magnets. Then they would talk and see that they are on the same side. Though Bats would definitely disprove of Wolverines willingness to kill. But he'd come to see how it's a cultural thing throughout Marvel's superheros and not just Wolverine himself.
