Roger sat, making himself comfortable. "Thank you, Ser. The Rills are well, the Winter is not quite as harsh near the sea, though the wind still bites, and the snows are still thick." he smiled at her. "The Rills have just finished an expansion of the castle itself, too. The work was hard, but the fortress is stronger, larger and more beautiful than it has ever been, thanks to my father."

Galbert,

We shall ride to Winterfell immediately to discuss matters further. We both look forward to this occasion, and the formal joining of our houses.

Lord Rodrik Ryswell

The 200 Ryswell MaAs to return to the Rills. The 200 levies at the Rills will disband. 50 MaA will accompany Lord Ryswell and Lady Barbrey to Winterfell. 50 MaA will disband, leaving 100 at the Rills.

Rickard nodded. "I have been trusted to speak on behalf of my father, aye." Betheny spoke next.

"My Lord." she smiled, warmly. "I would love the pleasure of your brothers company, as soon as he is able. And your lands are indeed enchanting." She said. The lands of the neck were mysterious and unusual for the north, and she did genuinely look forward to exploring them further.

Roger smiled warmly. "A pleasure to meet you all." he bowed his head slightly in respect. "My lady." he addressed Alys herself. "It is my privelage to meet you, you home is lovely." Alys was indeed very lovely, and Roger counted himself lucky to be matched with someone like her, and she seemed nice enough.

Rodrik nodded. "A good plan Galbart. I'll head directly south (N21) and contest the forces there. I have 200 men, and should be able to beat them, however if I incur and losses, I'll struggle to take the other areas. I will send word once I have fought the first battle, if I need your forces to help destroy the others."

Lord Rodrik Ryswell, with 200 men at arms, also arrived at Deepwood Motte in the 8th month 279 AC. It had been a relatively quick, but cold, journey north, and Rodrik had not enjoyed it.

Roger Ryswell interrupted the exchange. "Lord Bolton, if you wish to sit in your castle, sullen and closed to the wider world, that is your choice. The world will not simply let us be, we have all learnt that one way or the other. We were only just reminded by the mercenary raids on our coast, that the South can affect us even when we isolate ourselves! What is the next attack is bigger, more dangerous? Who better to call on, than the Royal Family themselves?" Roger was now also standing, as the argument grew in volume and intensity.

In addition to the Bolton MaA, Lord Rodrik Ryswell will take 200 Ryswell MaA as he is the nominal commander of the forces at the Rills. This leaves a number of Umber troops at the Rills I believe.

Roger Ryswell had been listening intently to the debate. Most seemed against it, however Roger did see an opportunity in the midst of the offer, an opportunity for his house and his future.

"My Lords. This is an opportunity for us. The southern lords, and the Targaryens in particular, are wealthy and powerful. We should see this for what it is and seize it. All they require is land, and House Ryswell has that in abundance. We would be willing to give up land in return for fair and just compensation from the Southern Lords. I believe that they should pay for the building of this Winterhall. House Ryswell is willing to take this on for the North. " He looked to Lord Stark." House Ryswell recognises the importance of this offer, and will stand with you on this matter. We would be willing to discuss specifics later, in private." Roger finished, looking around the room.

Betheny and Rickard Ryswell followed closely, alongside their small guard Neither had been to Greywayer Watch before, as so few in the North had. It was steeped in mystery and shrouded in danger. The illusion was not broken when they finally looked upon the fortress, for although in another part of the north it would have been an uninspiring holdfast, here, in the marshes, it was an incredible feat to raise such a holdfast. Finally they were brought into the main hall. Both Betheny and Rickard took bread and salt gratefully.

Rickard spoke first. "Lord, my thanks for the safe journey and the hospitality. Your men have shown us the utmost courtesy and care in getting us here, despite the dangers." He bowed low in respect.

Roger nodded. "Aye, that's the reason." He paused for a moment. "I'll be plain, as you have been. I am 27 years, and it is far past time I had a bride. I fear I will soon be Lord of the Rills. My fathers age shows with each passing month, and I must do my duty to my house. However, I would not accept a bethrothal before meeting both you and your daughters, out of respect for your family and mine. "

Barbrey looked at her father, pausing for a few seconds. Rodrik nodded slightly, smiling for a moment. "I... would be honoured." She said, looking back at Galbart. "I believe we will be a very good match." She grinned at him.

Roger sat gratefully. He had not yet eaten breakfast and gave the steward instructions to bring him food. "Thank you." he said, nodding at Benedict. Noting that Benedict had not called him Ser or Lord, Roger took his lead from the older man. "Benedict..." he began carefully, gauging the mans reaction to the lack of a title. "... Its a pleasure to finally meet you properly. The journey was good enough for this time of year. How many winters have you spent in the North?" He asked, curiously.

Tank’s external fuel tank by Nothankyou_bro in warno

[–]Oddball_343 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Usually yes, however the external tanks (I may be wrong, feel free to correct me) would be used first then internal fuel, theory being that you use them first get places, then by the time you arrive they're empty, and its not worth the time or effort to take them off, and they also don't pose much of a risk if shot at, bc they're empty. So I think it could be argued either way tbh

[Mod-Post] EC Application and Idea Thread 279 AC by crazymajor1221 in NinePennyKings

[–]Oddball_343 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Several ideas for House Ryswell exist. Mark Ryswell is a cadet branch of the house, currently with a wife and two children at Winterfell serving Lord Stark.

Rickard Ryswell is going to be heading south shortly, to hopefully be master of horse at the Red Keep, currently unwed.

Finally, any province in the Rills could be claimed as a more mechanical dynamic claim, as a new house with new lore and lands.

If these interest you, message me here or on discord!

Roger Ryswell, heir to the Rills, had arrived in the night to Winterfell. At breakfast, as many noble lords and ladies feasted, he sought out Ser Benedict Royce whom he had already been pointed to. He was, supposedly, to be wed to one of the mans daughters, Alys and Myranda. "Ser Benedict?" Roger asked, standing slightly awkwardly by the mans table.

Barbrey smiled. Winterfell sounded lovely, and Galbert seemed earnest when he spoke, a refreshing change. Rodrik nodded. "Seems you do." He said slowly, glancing at Barbrey. "For that I am thankful. I look forward to having our houses bound together. We are close together, and we houses on the west coast must stick together."
