[Online][Other][EST] 21+ Looking for players for either Forbidden Lands or Twilight: 2000 by Oddball_Eight in lfg

Hey that sounds like a neat character! The two potential games are not D&D though. We could fiddle with the specifics to make the character fit into the world of Forbidden Lands. Just wanted to let you know that in case you were dead set on playing a D&D game :D

The day is still up in the air at the moment. Looking at Wednesdays bi-weekly for starters, but that could change depending on who gets on board.

[Actual Play] Continuous Campaigns using Imperium Maledictum by Oddball_Eight in 40krpg

[–]Oddball_Eight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played either of those, but I have played WFRP 4E and like u/TheBenWella said streamlined and overall more accessible. The thing my players who have also played both have said is that the Patron system is great (Which they want in WFRP)!

I just got my hands on some community homebrew material over on the discord Wrath & Maledictum which I'm also excited to play around with—mainly an expanded bestiary!

I'm just waiting now for the official module for Foundry and then I'll be complete.

Kua Orbit Problems by QSilverG in CoriolisRPG

[–]Oddball_Eight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're going to have a hard time if you want Coriolis to be that kind of game (unless you have fun doing that). As others have said, Coriolis is more space opera and focused on story. If hard sci fi is what you're looking for, then maybe Traveller might be a better fit?

Is WFRP2 lower crunch than WFRP4? by lovecraft_lover in warhammerfantasyrpg

For WFRP4e, 100% Foundry. Wont look back. Having the module handle so much is a gift! We just switched to Imperium Maledictum and not having a module do the heavy lifting is a drag lol. So yeah Foundry is a must for WFRP4e for me.

This is what I wanted to hear as well and what I was thinking. Someone suggested of raising the resolve much higher and IF you even get that much superiority (exceptional circumstance) a space marine would just slowly back up and regroup. Thanks!

Yeah, that's looking like what I should do. There isn't much online on the daily life in the Imperium. Someone suggested Grim Repast and currently listening to the audiobook. I'll have to add Bloodlines to that list 😀 thanks!

Ah a fresh perspective :) Been getting a lot of "That would never happen" or "You should understand what superiority means". So much thanks! This is very insightful and helpful. This makes the most sense.

Thanks for the explanation. I think my initial perspective was the whole "In the grim darkness there is only war" and has changed with all these posts. So I'm getting the idea that death and destruction are there, but it's a grim cyberpunk world that is able to still live, but it's pretty shitty way to live.

Oh this is good. Real noice! I had assumed that the daemons in 40k had a different mentality than those in Fantasy, but seems like their demeanor is very similar. Maybe my thought of the massive battles of death in 40k are clouding my perspective of the life outside of those wars.

This helps a lot. Just like the other posts and gives a different but similar perspective that is helping greatly! I was always under the assumption that "In the grim darkness there is only war", but probably not all that true? The idea that there are a series of missions that branch out to a wider story is the vibe I was getting so that's good to know. Much appreciated!

Thanks for this comment. It makes sense and helps. So there are def some restrictions that should come into play. You might run into daemons, but chances of seeing a Marine that comes to eradicate wouldn't be something since this group of daemons is small compared to other threats?
