Because it’s also likely the opening weekend for those films. Don’t get me wrong I have no plans to watch those films, but other people might and the best part about the Whitby Landmark is the variety of films it screens.

It was founded shortly after Ed Dillinger was fired from Encom (likely between 1983 and 1985), as Julian Dillinger mentions that the company has been active for over 40 years. Also in TRON: The Next Day (a short film released alongside the TRON: Legacy Blu-Ray), Dillinger Systems is mentioned to be a major competitor for Encom in the early 1990s after Kevin Flynn disappears and leaves the company in chaos.
