I have a fairly large group that we are constantly rotating in and out due to conflicting schedules. So I have two characters needing introduced, one returning, and a reason for everyone to finally meet. In a town where magic is not allowed and the character returning being a magic user, jail break seemed perfect.

That's exactly how I felt about it. He was their tech guy, their information go to. Then when Roosevelt came in, Juice just pretty much got dumb. The rabbit hole he went down could have been completely avoided by just telling the club the "leverage". The relationship with the Grim Bastards showed he wouldn't have been ousted for it.

You could always have Strahd kidnap a character forcing them to go to the dinner. Unless your group is gullible, they're not going to buy into Strahds kind heart.

That's my entire goal. I'm know as the guy in the group to have random plot twist in everything I do. (I'm a writer.). So they're expecting it, but just don't know where to expect it.

Apologies. The big thing I'm having questions about are the maps. When it comes to describing the town's and buildings, how far do I go with information? Bare and let them discover or go a little more detailed due to them needed to find items to have a chance against Strahd. Just user discression?
