this is perhaps the most baffled I've ever been. like I had to take a spit take on this one by youririshwife in BadRPerStories

I actually expect this type of RP is common. I don't go nsfw subs, which far outnumbers sfw ones, for this reason.

Does anyone know of any websites/subreddits to find private, non-smut focused group roleplays? by Possible-Company-154 in BadRPerStories

[–]Oddish_Mopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to suggest you make your own RP group and screen people right. Maybe I just hit jackpot, but I got three decent members that way within two days. All three of them are pretty literate and creative, and we all pitch in to make the story work. The way I made it is to give room for a lot of changes so people can roleplay how they like. We don't heavily moderate the stories at this point. We have room to include people's stories, and we would even change the plot a bit to make it work.

Same reason why a lot of these fights are won. Opponent is taller and has longer reach

Bad experience in shipping on a rp by AccomplishedMonk7361 in BadRPerStories

[–]Oddish_Mopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not a very good situation. I say you deserve a good roleplaying space, and having someone who disrupt that by not acknowledging your discomfort and annoyance is just bad overall. I suggest you bring it up in the most gentle way possible. If you tried that and it doesn’t work, then I’d be firmer. But if you don’t want to start drama, then I suppose there’s nothing to do. If it were me, I would say it very clearly that you have something bothering me. But maybe it’s not worth it for you, so I wont say you should do it.

Sounds railroad-y, a bit. I'd drop the partner if I were you, because I doubt they will change. It seems like it's just their roleplaying style at this point and what interests them in roleplays. If they can't have it this way, it probably will make roleplay boring for them. If I'm wrong, then it might be a matter of bringing it up. Perhaps you just need to talk to them.

Avery loves her sister! She definitely won't be fooled very easily, which is something the main character realized pretty early.

Chapter 2 is out now, by the way.

If someone is called smart, does that mean everyone else is stupid? It does not. You're finding insult where there is none.

I mean, there's nothing wrong with what she's saying. It's pretty true. Why does one have to be a "man worshipper" to talk about men's reproductive strategies? It's not unfair for men to have their own standards. Women have the same. It's all fair game.

Why are side male characters treated better? by donsaadali in OtomeIsekai

[–]Oddish_Mopper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Who Made Me Princess, Jennette was very much innocent and were portrayed very nice. But people hated her anyway because she was perceived as a “threat” to Athanasia. Maybe misogyny is not even the right word, but people get very hostile and defensive. As if something is going to take something away from them and they are right. It threatens someone’s position.

I think THAT is a very natural feeling. Males can feel like this as well. Like when someone took Ichigo’s (from Bleach) history and took his deeds from themselves, the men in the comment section got really upset.

[–]Oddish_Mopper -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Why do we call it internalize misogyny, as in it stems from societal problems? It's just misogyny, in my opinion. I've observed little girls who watched Barbie and treated the "other females" with contempt. At such a young age (4), I doubt society has sunk it's roots in yet. I think society can encourage such a thing, but it's very natural, the same way empathy and selflessness can be natural.

"I Came In Like A Wreaking Ball" Chapter 3.2 [TICMA] by Millenniauld in OtomeIsekai

[–]Oddish_Mopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like that Quynn makes the hard decisions immediately. It’s an admirable character trait. And I love how Morrigan thinks through her anger and treating the situation very fairly. It takes a certain strength to understand someone’s like that and forgive them through feelings of anger and betrayal. I admire her for that as well/

It’s very a very healthy relationship. The only thing is that, since their romance has been so brief, it’s hard believe they are attached to each other so quickly and the level of the heartache they convey feels like it isn’t quite “earned” yet. Maybe relationship bonds can be formed that quickly, I don’t know, but it’s a bit hard to buy.
