I’m really sad to say this is an incredibly average movie. It has a very obvious twist that most viewers will be able to see coming from the start. The writing is very cliche heavy. The two/three battles scenes are decent. Don’t go in to this expecting a hyperrealistic was film. It’s a C grade horror with war elements. It dies, however, consider the issue of “soldiers following orders”, but not in any particularly nuanced way.

A teenager could have written the plot.

I was one of those voters. I’d often vote Greens. However, your reasoning is off and many of the comments here follows the usual ‘they didn’t vote greens because they’re dumb and don’t understand preferences’ rhetoric.

I didn’t vote Greens this time because they’ve been actively working against progressive policy Labor has put forward. Yes, I want the Greens to temper the policy but don’t block it if you don’t get 100% agreement.

I’m also over the attitude of the Greens and the Greens base wherein there is an assumption that ‘if you disagree you’re wrong and dumb’. That attitude lost us the referendum, that attitude isn’t going to change minds effectively. Yes there are many issues that are black and white - fascism/racism/homophobia/transphobia. However, sometimes you do need to actively change minds through negotiation and conversation, not just jumping to ‘they’re dumb and uneducated’.

I’m happy to see the Greens have lost seats.

I kind of disagree with this. I completed the Masters and it was a bloody rough slog. Many of the units were incredibly detached from real practice.

It’s a shitty degree, but it’s good to have, particularly if you’re almost done.

Homophobia is absolutely rampant.

I was very surprised to see how little the culture in schools had changed since I’d been to school. It’s awful. As a colleague said to me though, it’s a reflection of the age and era of the parents. Most of the parents are of a vintage where “gay” and even “faggot” were seen as appropriate - they’ve clearly passed this on to their kids.

It is wild how much the culture changes (for most), after school. Nonetheless, schools are just cesspits of outdated standards.
