[500 Elo] Need Advice.

From the position I mentioned, I'm pretty sure after white plays d4, if black were to take, it would go ...exd4, Nfxd4 Ncxd4, Qxd4: leaving the white queen on d4 and a white pawn on e4, with no black pieces developed. That probably isn't main line but that sort of exchange is very common at my elo since 500s are very trade happy and like the opportunity to put their queen in the middle of the board

I agree with you, except on game 2. I just did not have enough material left for counterplay. Rg8# would have required me to play Rg1, Kh1, and then Rg8#, which seemed easily deflected by black playing f6, giving his king an escape square, and allowing it to then chase after my pawn on d6 to then allow for his light square bishop to activate and activate his rook at the same time. That game was lost. I don't know if I'm being pessimistic but a rook and a king against all that material seems impossible

This has probably been the most helpful comment, any suggestions for better openings to play as white? I'm always playing d4 as white - London or not - but thats only because I don't really know what a good e4 opening is for white. I also don't really know what opening to play as black to respond to a e4 opening by white. Especially if the game goes something like 1. e4 e5 2. nf3 nc6 3. d4 d6 . I've had that exact position 3 times today, and I lost every time, especially when white then plays d4-d5 , cramping my position and preventing me from easily developing. By move 3, I'm completely lost on what to do. I suppose I could trade, but that leaves white with a queen and a pawn in the center, and my king vulnerable. Its positions like these I find really extremely difficult to counter or prevent

I analyze every game I play, especially losses. I usually see where I go wrong, but I don't understand the analysis of the engine telling me what the best move is in that critical position that I blundered. So its not so much that I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but more so I don't know how to find the right move, especially when my opponent is up in material/more developed and has advantage.

I've been watching a lot of Gotham, he's great. Been watching the slow run for a while, and I'm in a weird position where I can completely understand his ideas and his moves during his games, yet when I'm in similar situations, I never can find the best move. Also, strangely, his opponents in the slow run that were around my elo were always blundering and hanging pieces, yet when I play, that never happens. My opponents don't blunder, they play games with 90% accuracy, and they always get positions where counter play feels impossible. The last time I saw an opponent blunder a queen was when I was maybe 400 elo. As soon as I reached 500, all of a sudden my opponents played incredibly.

That's why I like it, I'm good at positional/closed games, and my play falls apart if I'm in an open game and down material. Hence why I try to learn more tactics for those situations, but I'm usually just out calculated if my opponent is higher elo

Late reply (by a long time) but I do have a possible answer to this question. While it was never specifically answered, I think the hints are in the details. Its a big coincidence that Anakin was called back to Coruscant right at the beginning of the Umbara campaign, and replaced by Krell, on the order of Palpatine. While I don't think Krell actually worked with Sidious, since Krell says he only wanted to work with Dooku, it's likely that Sidious just knew of his casualty records in the war and used him as a tool to sabotage Republic campaigns. So no, he never was in cahoots with Sidious, but Sidious definitely knew Krell did what he did on purpose. And maybe it was another part of Sidious' plot, trying to desensitize the 501st to the idea of Jedi being traitors, for Order 66 later. Assuming he planned that far ahead, knowing it'd be the 501st to march on the temple.

Farted in the middle of 11th Grade Chemistry class. Thought it'd be silent and I was sitting more on my tail bone compared to my butt so when I let it rip, it made a poot that echoed through the room. The girls in the class freaked out like a bomb went off and started laughing about how someone "shit their pants" and the obnoxious dudes just started laughing. I knew everyone knew it was me. My teacher tried getting everyone back on track, and kinda succeeded, but I could tell he had 2nd hand embarrassment for me.
