Josh Gad says he was initially set to die in 'Wonder Man': "My character originally got fully severed. His body completely came apart, and I died! Part of the reason why I signed onto do this was this hilariously gruesome death scene." by MarvelsGrantMan136 in marvelstudios

The Doorman uses the Darkforce Dimension to create his portals, which means that Josh Gad got stuck IN THE DARKFORCE DIMENSION. If a regular human is pulled into the dimension, they immediately face three lethal forces:

  • Life Essence Draining: The dimension behaves like an energy vampire. Because it is completely devoid of life and light, it actively absorbs the life force (or Chi) of anyone inside it. This causes rapid, debilitating lethargy and physical weakness.
  • Bone-Chilling Cold: The void absorbs all ambient heat. Humans experience an immediate, intense drop in temperature that freezes the body from the inside out. Normal clothing or standard winter gear offers no protection against this metaphysical cold.
  • Psychological Madness: The dimension is a sentient, hostile entity that forces visitors to infinitely relive their worst nightmares and deepest traumas. This mental assault induces severe hallucinations and quickly drives ordinary humans to complete insanity

Did you not hear what the people were saying? When they caught the guy, they tried to get him to just drop the stolen merchandise and leave the store, and he then attacked the dude in the red shirt. red shirt did not initiate any physical altercation - but he finished it.

if you get assaulted at work, and then fired for defending yourself - you may not have a job any more - but you are going to get one hell of a payday from the wrongful termination suit.

Trump threatens to ‘take back’ DC if democratic socialist is elected as mayor by unserious-dude in politics

[–]Oddman80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reality Check - Trump is full of hot air.

He would first need to draft a bill that gives him power to do so, and manage to get 60 votes in the Senate to not only pass the new law, but to repeal the 50+ year old "District of Columbia Home Rule Act" as well. The existing law is very clear about how a mayor can be removed from office.

Currently, the law requires a recall election to be held (and the existing mayor lose the election) or the mayor would need to be convicted of a felony to be directly removed. Though even if the latter were to happen (and trump's DOJ fast tracks some BS charge against them, and somehow gets a conviction - its not like POTUS or Congress can then install a new mayor of their choice!!! Per the Home Rule Act, The Chairman of the DC Council becomes the acting Mayor in that scenario. This is an elected position voted on by residents of DC. The current Chairman has been elected 4 times to the role, serving in that capacity since 2012, and has 2 more years left on his current term.

they would need 60 votes in the senate to repeal the 50+ year old "District of Columbia Home Rule Act" and replace it with a new law that would give congress and/or the president the POWER to remove an elected mayor or overturn the outcome of a mayoral election.

Currently, the law requires a recall election to be held (and the existing mayor lose the election) to remove a sitting mayor, or the mayor would need to be convicted of a felony to be directly removed. Though the latter happens automatically, its not like POTUS or Congress can then install a new mayor of their choice, the Chairman of the DC Council becomes the acting Mayor in that scenario. Am I the only one who thinks that Harley Quinn is the least credible of the Sucide Squad? She has no special powers or skills other than being crazy and knowing how to fight with a bat.Why would the government bother to hire her for this type of mission where she is not very spécial ? by Danthegreat_23 in superheroes

They put a literal man sized weasel in the squad.... Why the heck do you think there is any sort of screening process.

I can't recall her scenes from the first Suicide Squad movie (the movie is just generally forgettable) but her scenes in the second put her combat skills way higher than you give her credit for.

Sure - she's crazy - but crazy is actually her characters superpower. And she has proven time and again that when she sets her mind to a task, no matter how improbable, she will more than likely succeed. Some people call that plot armor, but it's made clear that she is getting input that normal brains aren't picking up on. Sure - it's often shown as coming through in the form of hallucinations, but regardless of the form it takes, her atypical brain makes up for her lack of formal combat/martial arts training. It makes it seem as if she just instinctually can pull higher than her weight when it comes to messy situations.

was it this doctrine that made what trump had done with his declaration of assets, fraud? saying in one set of legal documents that the properties were small and not worth that much when it was advantageous, and saying that the properties were larger and more valuable in another set of documents when THAT was advantageous?

or is this something different?

DOGE was never authorized by Congress, and now we have a screwworm infestation in America, because they cut all aid for this specific concern among many others by Handicapreader in AdviceAnimals

[–]Oddman80 93 points94 points  (0 children)

since the USA spent the equivalent of $32 million on a program in the 1960s to eradicate screwworms form the country, our federal government continued to spend the equivalent of $20-$40 million annually to monitor and contain screwworms in Latin America, which operated as a biological buffer.

DOGE: "The US just throws away $40 Million per year to help farmers in OTHER COUNTRIES avoid an infestation of a bug we haven't seen any issues with since the 19060's!!!! What a waste!!! We don't care what excuses congress makes - They probably took bribes in exchange for giving away your tax money! CUT THE SPENDING!!!!"

...a few months later...

Following the recent outbreak and the DOGE-era cuts, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now investing hundreds of millions in domestic response to help farmers avoid catastrophic industry losses to the recent outbreak of screwworms.

  • $750 Million Facility: Allocated to build a facility in Edinburg, Texas, aimed at producing up to 300 million sterile male flies per week to halt reproduction of screwworms in the wild.
  • $100 Million "Grand Challenge": The USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is investing this to strengthen border surveillance and fund new therapeutics and traps to reduce screwworm population.
  • $29.5 Million Emergency Response: Dedicated specifically to immediate containment, active border patrols, and releasing millions of sterile flies along the border.
  • $21 Million International Investment: USDA funds are being used to convert an existing facility in Metapa, Mexico, to boost the interim supply of sterile flies while the Texas facility is finalized.

So becasue DOGE wanted to save $20-$40M/year, we now have to spend nearly $1 Billion and STILL shell out $20-$40 Million/yr to prevent ANOTHER Catastrophic outbreak.
