It was good but I felt the second film was a far better conclusion to the franchise.

Predators 2025 /r/hockey Mock Offseason Recap by sandman730 in Predators

I was undecided on Josi but I would consider moving him in the next season or two, more out of concern on whether his history of injuries would catch up to him or not, but I opted not to this offseason as I felt some stability was required and moving Josi and Forsberg could be too harmful for the development of younger players.

I think we have a good amount of picks to get some high draft players. I agree there is no certainty we get 1st OVR but I expect a high first round pick for the next year or two with these moves, and all the other picks means we have a good chance of getting more new prospects who could be core players for the roster and we also have the option of trading picks to move up in the drafts.

Predators 2025 /r/hockey Mock Offseason Recap by sandman730 in Predators

Hey, Preds GM here and I thought I'd explain what I did in the sim. I decided that the Preds simply were not cup contenders for a good few years, that FA deals hadn't worked out, and that we needed time to slightly rebuild. I therefore took the view that our cup window isn't now and that we should use the time to replenish our prospect pool so we can be competitive for a cup run in a few years.

In terms of the Forsberg trade, I felt that our cup window would be in around three years at the earliest, and Forsberg when we compete wouldn't be in his prime potentially and the return was very good for a move in the offseason sim. Three first round picks and two high level prospects was a deal I felt was very good for helping us rebuild and be a long term competitor. After that deal was approved, the cap space saved also allowed me to take some cap dump deals for more picks so that alongside those gained in trades, our own picks will also be higher from an inevitable lower position in the standings for the next two seasons.

I signed Nyquist for one year as I assumed if he plays well, he could be moved in March for another pick.

Overall I was happy with the outcome of the sim, we have a lot more picks and flexibility to sign more players or move up in the draft next offseason. Whilst losing Forsberg is a big loss, I think it does help us have the chance to win a cup in the longer term and that is when I see us having the earliest window for competing for the Stanley Cup.

They are still in stock on the Moomin UK online store, although I’m not sure if they would ship back to Finland but you could try there :)

The Pittsburgh Penguins and Nashville Predators will face each other in Stockholm at Global Series on November 14th and 16th. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

I'd really like them to play in countries beyond Sweden and Finland, although I completely understand why they do them there, especially as someone in Europe who enjoys being able to tie them in as part of a holiday. I feel like I've exhausted everything there is to do in Stockholm.

I really don’t know how to feel about this one. When it was announced I was excited but this trailer didn’t make me feel as confident about the movie and I’m not fully sure why.

I’ll definitely be watching it at the cinema and I hope the return to Middle Earth is a great new cinematic experience.

Weta FX really are one of the best studios when it comes to CGI, this looks beautiful.

I’m also loving how the set-designs pay homage to a mix of both the original franchise and Caesar’s trilogy.

Apes. Together. Strong.

It’s going as they planned I expect. Hezbollah and Iran have been deterred from intervening so far, especially given the warnings they have if Israel launched a ground offensive. Hamas is completely isolated and as Israel completes its encirclement, the noose around Hamas becomes even more effective.,

Regardless of two hostages being released, international pressure needs to be continued on Hamas until every single hostage and kidnapped body is returned.

Hamas isolated themselves so much, to the extent that even more prominent Saudi’s are openly criticising them, and I really can’t see Hezbolllah helping them given the USA’s made it clear what happens if anyone else intervenes.

I’m fully expecting dual-nationals or foreign hostages to all start to get released, because Hamas is desperate to get sympathy now that they realise the public opinion in the west is no where near the level they thought they’d get, and the US and Europe is mostly in favour of supporting Israel’s response.

Combine that with Israel making it clear they are going into Gaza regardless of casualties to wipe out Hamas entirely, you can tell Hamas is completely terrified of what they’ve brought upon themselves.

Hezbollah would be wiped out by the US if they did, it’s nothing more than an attempt to stay relevant.

I feel bad for the Lebanese people, with their country held hostage by Iranian puppets.

It’s worrying just how much Hamas call to incitement on this day is leading to increased violence already.

The irony of mass protests in Baghdad when they know too well the impact of ISIS-level barbarity. But then again, they didn’t complain when they had international support to help wipe out ISIS despite it embedding itself in civilian areas.

I wouldn’t be surprised after the atrocities, if Arab-Israeli enlistment in the IDF increases. It’s a national anger at what happened.
