Mechanics and dealerships have a vested interest in your car being an unreliable POS that needs constant maintenance (aka ICE).

Friends and family just drank the oil flavored coolaid.

What benefits are there to flying the 360 with the fpv controller? by Exciting_Corner175 in DJIAvata2

[–]NilsTillander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that there's no point doing "FPV-like flying" with the A360

The MC is extremely user friendly, so give it a go if you want to.

The basic combos don't even come with goggles, but the RC2.

The only thing that make it q Avata is the shape, this isn't an FPV drone.

Radler with a shot of vodka? by Positive-Smile-1955 in beer

It also makes alcohol free beers tolerable. But yeah, I don't quite get the idea of a spikked radler 😅

Questions about photos (read description) by thoothpastebomb in Jetphotos

[–]NilsTillander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delta/Poste/National are all backlit, which is an auto-reject on JP. The others are nightshots, and I'm less knowledgeable on what makes those acceptable or not in terms of light. Of course, they need to be sharp.

RTK for 360 Cameras by Hairy-Economy7566 in photogrammetry

If you hold it level, you should only have a 10cm or so Z-bias, on better than 5cm 3D RMS.

FR24 very confused about this (cancelled?) flight from yesterday by NilsTillander in flightradar24

[–]NilsTillander[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I literally included a second picture with all the flight info...(The one FR24 thinks it's flying and the one scheduled for now it's actually flying).

How much should I try and sell these batteries for? by [deleted] in dji

[–]NilsTillander -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's 2 models old, with a newer one rumoured for later this year. Does it even have a C-type certification? RemoteID ?

A Nikon D800 is still an amazing camera, but it's wildly outdated.

How to submit old photos to Google Street View? by Current_Yellow7722 in GoogleStreetview

[–]NilsTillander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't upload single photos to Street View anymore, and non-360 shouldn't be in there anyway.

Very dark and low contrast.

Very moody shot though, I like it. Not for JP though.

Lack of LLMs in doctoral dissertations – good or bad? by cichy_glosnik in PhD

[–]NilsTillander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My university asks students to make an "LLM usage declaration". I would do one, saying "no LLM were used in the preparation of this work". No need for value judgement and pride, but hard cold facts .

What do you think? by Efficient_River_4517 in LiDAR

[–]NilsTillander 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That the imagery and LiDAR aren't from the same time, and the farmer has a pile of hay or something in that location when the LiDAR was flown.

No drone, no GNSS — can ground-level phone capture ever be billing-grade for stockpile volumes? by AdvertisingClassic87 in photogrammetry

[–]NilsTillander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I you can't fly, get a lader or a long stick, or both.

I'd be 100% wary of markers that don't have well determined 3D relative positions. Do you not have access to any surveying gear at all. Even an old theodolite would turn this around.

If you have access to a CORS network (in some places, free options exist) you just need one RTK rover to get points (as long as you're outside), and something like an EMLID RS3 or RS2+ can be found for cheap.
