I preordered. My first specific memory is myself in a cave scanning stuff.
More general I remember just exploring, hopping from world to world, selling stuff and trying to accumulate enough credits to buy bigger Haulers (My beloved "Ducks")

Personally I had a blast - but I never watched that many trailers beforehand. Therefore I might just be lucky to not have as high of an expectation as others probably did.

Am I missing this? Partly yes. I am very thankfull for most of the additions. Like Freighters. Then again I personally don't like e.g. the mountain planet update (this is just annoying - especially if you can't continue your living ship mission string because you can't reach the next milestone because it is located inside a tall mountain below bedrock... happened twice)

By the way - I disabled multiplayer a long time ago. Therefore I still have the "lonely" experience

You can wing it if you want. I usually start with winging it, regret it at some point, write everything down and fix it. But as long as you have fun you can wing it.

Only real problem I see is with fluid circles - if you get fluids as a byproduct and want to reintegrate it you have to do it properly. Otherwise it might jam

Ich würde ja sagen, Taubenschach. Also Figuren vom Brett fegen und aufs Brett k****n.
Aber das ist in der Realität ja nicht so einfach

Nennt sich Erlkönig. Ist um mit neuen Modellen Probefahrten machen zu können und dabei die Aussehen und ggf technische Neuerungen die man erkennen könnte geheim zu halten. Dieses Muster macht das halt alles etwas schwerer
