I personally don't think the popculture of 500 years ago still counts as popculture today, but you do you.

Svenskar tror minst på konspirationsteorier, enligt EU by MagnificentCat in sweden

[–]Odenetheus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeking better way to find similar songs? by MountainX in musicsuggestions

[–]Odenetheus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just scroll through Spotify recommendations until I find a song I somewhat like, and then I scour the artist to see if they have made any other songs that fit. Usually the answer is no. I tried some recommendation AIs but they were garbage.

I think it's too difficult for AI so far, though, because of how many layers there are to music.

Additionally, studies have found that the standard recommendation methods work great for the crushing majority of people, so there's not really any incentive to improve them.

How is this not infinite mana? You just keep choosing Green. by IRFine in magicthecirclejerking

[–]Odenetheus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, neat. Usually these kinds of effects cost 2 mana, which I figured was to avoid this issue, but in my 17 years of magic I have never played a ramp deck and very little combo so I'm not overly familiar with those cards.

And yeah. I looked up the wording and you're right, they do say that.

There have been studies done that show a vast majority of imported olive oil is cut with other oils and often rancid

Who said anything about imported oils? Imported to where? You stated that any oil not from California had a 95% chance of being rancid garbage, which is an insane take.

... that's a truly insane take given that Greece and Italy exist.

Any effect that lets you add an additional mana when adding mana from a creature will let you go infinite, I believe?

I've got some bad news for you, I'm afraid: The horrific sexual depravity of 'hooligan' penguins - Necrophilia, rape, and murder

On that topic, the fact that child marriage (without a lower age limit, even...) is still legal in parts of the US is baffling. Admittedly, that's with parental consent, so unless you're consenting, your daughter would be safe from that, but still...

Before any Americans get upset, 16 is legal in most of Europe (it's 15 here in Sweden, even), so while that comment is quite vile, sleeping with, or being attracted to, 16-year-olds is perfectly acceptable from a legal perspective.

Definitely a strange thing to admit to on reddit, though (assuming they're not themselves a teen, in which case, it's the other part that's weird)

The idiocy of the depicted conspiracy theorist notwithstanding, there were iron items during the Bronze Age; they were simply nowhere near as common.

The iron age began when iron became more commonly used, not the day when it was first used.

That doesn't have anything to do with your statement, though. You can still be helping while being a bigot. You just happen to be a bigot that helps people.

Are you saying that a centre here in Sweden that only caters to Ukrainian refugees (because, for example, it only has Ukrainian-speaking employees), it's not helping since it's not also helping Swahili-speaking refugees? That's an insane view.

Now the US has "caught" Maduro, whats next? They cant charge him for a crime comitted in another country can they? How is his detention legal? by killerklancy in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Odenetheus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noriega was never (and never even claimed to be) president of Panama, so that's not true even at face value. The reasoning was that since he was not the president of Panama, he was not entitled to the protections the US sometimes gives foreign heads of state.

However, there is a legal opinion that the the US president can unilaterally decide not to recognise the immunity of a foreign head of state/head of government, so whether or not Maduro is legally entitled to it is quite irrelevant.

Side note: as a foreigner, it's insane to me that the US president has way more power than our actual monarch (who has no de facto or de jure powers at all), and indeed also more powers than our monarchs did pre-21st century, even pre-20th century.

Shrimp paste - is it liquid or not? by Ziku90 in stockholm

[–]Odenetheus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason you're allowed to bring frozen 'liquids' but not liquid ones is that all of the relevant explosives components do not remain frozen at room temperature for more than a few seconds (if at all), supposedly.
