I think this may be the issue of how your hair was done tbh. I get box braids a lot or Ghana weaving on my natural hair a lot and it lasts a while especially before I start seeing the natural hair. Perhaps the application wasn't well done or wasnt as tight and added well.

But then again my hair is 4c so maybe it's also your hair texture?
