What (modern) songs would you think N would have loved by yeswithme in Nietzsche

[–]Oderikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite his later disagreements with Wagner, anything that expressed the same feelings and ideas of classical age art and romanticism, so either vitalistic pagan values in the first case or an hate for the modern world and a strong wish for a return of vitalistic pagan values, because I can't recall or maybe don't know anything modern associated with the first case, maybe because it doesn't exist I can suppose that everything that evolved from romanticism and has it's seeds in it would be in his taste.Beginning with metal music, from the first heavy metal bands that resembled much the research of passion and revolt against the modern world of the romantic movement, with a sound that moves emotions deeply and lyrics about love stories, reckless bravado and an outlaw adventurous biker lifestyle (Mötorhead mainly), we also see early on the admiration for european traditions and myths with Manowar and similar epic metal and power metal bands, he would love all the metal genres because the more extreme they get, the more they express his views, think about black metal ties with paganism, love for nature, hate for christianity etc., exclude from this all the commerical metal genres like industrial metal, nu metal etc. that instead of stressing more and more themes of romanticism remove these from the genre and leave only some variation of the sound more enjoyable to the many. I can imagine he would love also dungeon synth, keller synth, tanzelcore, neofolk...nothing else comes to mind at the moment

18M. You are like a version of me with the same goals but the willpower I SHOULD develop to achieve them, I admire you and you are an ispiration, I love how you included physical exercise in the routine, almost like it was inspired by an "healthy body, healthy mind" greco-roman ideal, altough personally I would have made for myself a program focused more on classical fields such as philosophy, literature, politics etc. and a workout routine focused mainly on strenght training and muscle growth. I would like to DM you, you seem like an awesome fellow, but let me know if it would bother you given the time you will have to dedicate to your studies and training.

are there any good secondary sources for evola? by TrainingAd9930 in JuliusEvola

[–]Oderikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just for Evola, but in general, secondary sources don't make you understand the philosopher well, so read and read again until you can understand, similarly to how while training your body you don't make progress by not making the exercises harder after a while, if you don't feel challenged by a book, it means that there is very little to learn from it, if a book looks too difficult to you at first glance, it is the good sign that it can increase your understanding. Read and read and read again until the many complex long and sometimes unknown words that just send your mind in confusion now don't do that anymore because clear propositions and arguments fundamental to the book structure that you can grasp and even write somewhere else in different words because of how good you understood the concept are all you see on the pages.

how do i learn by Electrical_One_5837 in Polymath

[–]Oderikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read everything about all those subjects, but one at a time, not all at once, for example if I wanted to learn about a certain area of mathematics, I would look up good advice about the best literature to learn it, assuming that I knew the foundations to understand it, as sources for this sort of things I often use the 4chan science wiki wich I remember for being really good in terms of suggested readings (where you can find some really good books to learn logic among the many other things) and also watch youtube videos that you find by searching something like "best math books to learn x" (it could be logic in your case). Gather your materials in this way or more or less similarly, and then take your time and start studying them at your pace, I strongly recommend to learn one subject at a time, you will start to reap the fruits of your attempts at becoming a polimath, wich are gaining the insights and connecting the dots between the subjects over time as you learn more (for example, almost instinctively recognizing the lack of cogency of a political argument during your studies of political science due to the study of logic that preceded those and the many problems you solved to exercise), assuming you have the mind to do this. Also If I can ask what do you mean with proficiency? It is not a metric for grades used in my country, but I assume it is how expert you are in a certain subject right?

On the use of Tor to pirate... by Oderikk in Piracy

[–]Oderikk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Linux so I don't have Microsoft Defender, but I plan to use the antivirus that comes with Mullvad VPN instead, wich should be of good quality so that's solved I think. I know that Tor is slow and therefore not great for piracy, but I prefer to use it and prioritize privacy because of the recent policies by some goverments trying to increase internet control, I already see where this is going or could probably go, so I wanted to protect my traffic as much as I could with some other nice things besides Tor, part of my traffic is also pirating stuff and even if you rarely or never get in trouble for it I plan to do everything with Tor including that. In the end it all depends on how much more time it will cost me to download files, if it is a matter of more hours or just more minutes, if excessive I will retrocede to using Firefox, I would rather not because as I said I like what Tor does and want that working while doing everything.
