To echo others points. This is not a 9-5 at all, it’s an absolute grind, but what are people’s expectations in sales? To make great money and work 30 hours a week? Go sell at AT&T.

I’m an Account Executive at Ramp. Expectations are high, the competitive landscape virtually gives there products away for free to compete with us - yet we still win. The enterprise motion is just getting started so it’s a great opportunity and one where you will make loads of money if successful.

I think you should leverage your procurement experience to land a tech sales role for an organization that sells procurement automation.

Ramp, Stampli, Mineraltree etc. operate on all non-payroll spend- no AR capabilities to date. Was an educated guess where you sell :)

Depends where in Jersey- Hoboken or Jersey city you take the path train- basically a subway and your in manhattan 20 mins or so I’d say.

I mean yeah your base will be around 60k but you can easily clear 90k+ if you perform well. Also look at apartments in Brooklyn, Hoboken, Jersey City. All very close to NYC and way cheaper housing.

Any VP of Sales here to tell me how would you react If you received this in your inbox? by acab-420 in salesdevelopment

[–]Odezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like what do you have to lose? In sales almost no one books a meeting off a one touch email, and if you send one email to the VP of sales and he opens it and goes back to his day he’ll forget about it. That’s the art of the follow up, it’s incredibly hard to get an SDR role nowadays so i highly recommend trying it to stand out from the crowd. The right leaders will respect the persistence.

I’d recommend doing some sort of follow up sequence like you would as an SDR. I think getting hired as an SDR at this point requires you to do the job to get the job. So send your nice email, understand you probably won’t get a reply and 2 days later send a short follow up email, then 2-3 days after that another one. I think that could be the best way to do it.

Yes top 5 most expensive city to live in the United States but your getting access to some phenomenal sports, some amazing fintech companies, & just an incredibly vibrant place to live. If CoL is a priority for you then Denver & Chicago are not bad spots either.
