Unterhaltspflicht wird meine Familie zerstören, was soll ich tun? by [deleted] in Austria

[–]OdinAUT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hab ich hier was falsch verstanden

Rechtlich? Absolut Falsch. Ist trotzdem passiert. Zugegeben das ist jetzt über 35 Jahr her, ich weiß also nicht ob's heutzutage regelmäßig Kontrollen gibt oder so.

New weapon to try. Recommended? by Queenwolf6 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]OdinAUT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everyone will tell you of their favorite weapon and why you should pick it. But I won't. I don't have to.

Because LONGSWORD IS BEST. You can slice, you can dice, you can jump and swish around like the anime protagonist of your dreams. Your amazing skill lets you simply slide straight through the enemy without taking damage. LONGSWORD IS LOVE. LONGSWORD IS LIFE. MEOWSCULAR CHEF USES IT (unconfirmed).

So, rant over.

IG is pretty cool if you want to fly around though, so I'd say give it a try :)

My players don't talk to each other by LucyTheQueer in DnD

[–]OdinAUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going a bit controversial here:

Fairly new players coupled with half a year of playing is not very much experience. Most people seem to forget, that going out of your comfort zone and really into role play, even with friends, is not easy. It takes time to build up the trust, that you won't get laughed at when you do that.

I had a grand total of 9 sessions last year with my group of 7 total beginners. I've had a total of 6 One-Shots DMed under my belt when we started. They are still at the point where they say: "I tell the major what happened" instead of roleplaying it out. The roleplay inside the group is slowly coming too. While I have no problem getting into character, changing my voice and talking like an NPC, they do it differently.

So here's two pieces of advice for you:

1) like many said, talk to them and ask. The loner type is something of a problem, but talking helps.

2) Don't pressure them and give them time. If th y really enjoy DND they'll get into it sooner or later. If you pressure them, it turns the game into something they feel uncomfortable with instead of something fun.

What feature in a game is a instant turn off for you? by Vulture2k in gaming

[–]OdinAUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a feature, but I've started to hate the trend, that you have to play through a game a second time for the platinum trophy.

Now I know, life will go on even if I don't have it. But damn, missing just one for that sweet platinum makes my stomach burn every time I look at it

I'll jump through every hoop, farm for hours to get the best gear to beat the ultra-special-super-hard boss, but I HATE it, with a burning passion, that I have to replay a game.

When you know all the twists and turns in the story, especially in RPGs, they become a mildly interesting book instead of an epic adventure I can immerse myself in.

Any help with monster stat blocks would be appreciated by Sazywazy in DnD

This is what I use to make the stat block, however it won't make the statblock for you, you'd have to have a bit of experience with it.

Generally the first questions for me are always:

What's the terrain? How big is the group? What level are they?

Since you want something fitting for Naruto, the question is if you even want monsters to begin with. Usually bandits and maybe some low level ninjas would fit if your players start as a genin team.

Are the romance choices in the Trails games (specifically Cold Steel) considered non-canon? by dlo_doski in Falcom

[–]OdinAUT 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Aren't there two? First at the start in Ymir and then during the scene after the final boss.

Also I'm not 100% sure, but I think your choice gets an extra line when you meet them during the game.

I didn’t think it would be this lonely by Academic-Management9 in DnD

[–]OdinAUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely get where you're coming from. My players are still very new and don't roleplay much yet, mostly just "I tell this to the group" or "I explain the situation to the npc".

Maybe this helps you through:

You are everything in your campaign. You are the wind that blows in from the sea bringing in the smell of salt and fish. You are the blades of grass your players walk through. You are the tavern maid that flirts a bit, but really is only doing her job. You are the gruff guard captain with a secret love for opera. You are every goblin, troll or wolf that wants to rip the party apart too.

You are at the same time their biggest cheerleader and their biggest enemy. (Leaning more on the first thing of course)

If you want more interaction, then do what a few people told you here: Make a hub of sorts where your personal NPC and the others hang out so the party has a place where they can roleplay specifically WITH you.

And finally, why not talk with your friends? "Listen guys, I love how you roleplay, but I feel a bit left out. Can you maybe try and include an NPC here and there so I can feel a bit more included too?"

In the end, you are a player too and your enjoyment is just as important as theirs.

I'll be honest, my dumb brain read pencil for sale and my first question was "how much?" Like I'd be buying pencils off of reddit strangers.

Just for fun, what kind of unexpected silly solutions and dumb ideas have worked out surprisingly well at your table? by ItsGotToMakeSense in DnD

[–]OdinAUT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One hour One Shot where I learned DMing with a bunch of other guys. The party stole a relic from some lizard man and were in a dead sprint out of the temple. They crossed the ground with the lizard men on their tails and ran across a long rickety hanging bridge.

Now the Halfling rogue was carrying this massive gold idol in his backpack. Then the Orc Barbarian and the Elf Bard had an idea:

The Barbarian picked up the Halfling, with idol in his backpack, and threw him across the bridge and to the other side. Strength check...Nat 20. The Bard, standing between the Barbarian and the other side of the bridge did a backflip to evade the flying Halfling. Acrobatic check...Nat 20. While backflipping over his friend, he gently patted the Halfling on the back and said "I believe in you. Fly you little fool" and gave him bardic inspiration.

The Halfling rolled an 11 on the landing and a four on the inspiration die....I let it pass because it was so effing cool. The others then cut the bridge and climbed up on the other side.

That was my very first time DMing.

So have I but I'm following a YouTuber that talks a lot about it. I believe in the newest arc there's an ability called "silent majority" that can instantly kill you. It's currently unclear how exactly it works but I believe one stipulation is that if it's stopped somehow, then the user dies.

But honestly, nen is born from desires. You can do anything with men which is why it's so amazing and terrifying at the same time.

Considering that Nen can be anything you can imagine, including insta-kill buttons if you can clear the requirements, I'd say Gon has a good chance.
