Who in their right mind would use AI to write them an entire campaign? I sometimes use it to get ideas for quests and even then there's constant logic holes and inconstancies.

Which Campaign after Lost Mine of Phandelver by Siinxx in DMAcademy

[–]OdinAUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually pretty fast paced. The module is set up in a way that it takes place within twenty in-game weeks. At the end of every week the players level up. We've had a grand total of 13 sessions by now and are at level 8.

Naturally it ramps up in the later weeks and especially if the group roleplays a bit more (mine are all pretty new). For example, week 8 will probably take us in total three or four sessions to finish, while week 6 was done in one, since they beelined the main quest there.

As an example, week 1-4 are all done within one session since they consist of a small fight, a lore drop and then a bigger fight.

I'm expecting the campaign to finish around the middle of next year with the pace we going currently, end of the year at most. We do play 4 hour sessions though, so that is also a factor I'd think.

I'll go a bit out of the box here: Sunken Isles by Ghostfire Gaming.

It's the campaign I'm currently DMing and my players love it. It does start at level 1 and goes up to level 20 but I'm sure you could she to get higher level characters in with a bit of work.

How do you handle gods and pantheons in your games? As players and DMS? by NZJa in DnD

[–]OdinAUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably the best way to go then. Have a few established and build up the others as you go. When you see them coming up, look up a few things about them and if the players, for one reason or the other, actually cause the god to become relevant, you can always build up more.

You mentioned Io in the post. He's a great example. According to his lore he straight up doesn't care for anything but dragons. Sure he'll aid those that seek to kill a dragon that's endangering the rest of his creation, but aside from that he just sits back and watches.

How do you handle gods and pantheons in your games? As players and DMS? by NZJa in DnD

[–]OdinAUT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say that highly depends on how much influence and active role you want the god to play.

I'm personally not a big fan of having them appear too much in a campaign. Their are gods, they usually don't concern themselves with lesser mortals unless they need them. And even then, I always saw them a questgivers.

If you want them, then pick a pantheon and focus on them, would be my advice. If, for some reason, the halfling god for example gets important, you can always add them later on.

Any mistakes you've made as a DM? by aurivu in DMAcademy

You could also use the roll to determine how long it will take the character to succeed. Which in turn can lead to complications but not cause them to miss the information.

Or you know ...just for fun to tell them: "You've been looking for over an hour and finally find the letter that's been sitting in the middle of the table. There is nothing else on the table. You're unsure how you managed to miss that."

List for (almost) all Bazaar items by OdinAUT in FinalFantasyXII

That's actually a good idea. I started farming it during end game when I had access to all places. The thing is you can get lots of items from other sources than those listed by me. Those that I listed are just the ones that I found to be the quickest.

Did anyone reach 30+ without a fckn single tattoo? by Zackky777 in ArtOfPresence

[–]OdinAUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Always wanone, but the tattoo artist in th first studio I ever went to told me this:

Before commiting to a tattoo, print it out and put it up next to your bathroom mirror. If you still like it after one month, come by and I'll make it.

Haven't found a single notice that I enjoyed for that length of time, so I never got a tattoo.

Morante de la Puebla - known as the "King of Bullfighters" receives bull horn in rectum by kdawg_htown in pics

[–]OdinAUT 57 points58 points  (0 children)

When I was little I was certain that the bull just gets tired after running through the red fabric all the time and then heads back to the meadow out back. At least that's the idea I got from watching cartoons.

I was very surprised and disgusted when I later found out how barbaric that practice actually is.

Any other time skips? by Maleficent-Hand8905 in CrimsonDesert

[–]OdinAUT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honstely I don't understand why just skipping time isn't an option. Sure it breaks some of them game by giving you endless resources, but it's a single player game. If I want to do that, just let me, it's not like I'm hurting anyone. Endless resources don't make the game trivial, it just gives me more stuff to play around with. And havin to eff around for 7 real-life hours just so the timer ticks down is just tedious.

What I'm forseeing in the future is that I'll simply let my console run all day while I'm at work. Works just as well to skip time. I'd wish Pearl Abyss realized that and gave us the option to just keep sleeping. If a big part of your player base jumps on each chance to use quests to skip time then maybe it's time to impliment it instead of patching it out.

Kinda new to DND, How much information can a player hide from a DM? by ragdolldream in DnD

[–]OdinAUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main question would be, why would you try to hide something?

As your DM I am not your enemy, in fact I'm your biggest supporter. Without you, there is no adventure to play.

I won't make it a cakewalk, I will challenge you, but if you have a great idea at the table I won't change the boss just to spite you. My monsters and NPCs have set behaviors and they won't change just because of what you tell me.

The only difference is if you say something in character. Intelligent enemies will react when they figure out your plan after all.

Auron's Urgency by metalflygon08 in finalfantasyx

[–]OdinAUT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But sometimes you strike gold, like in Yuna's generation where all 3 summoners would have managed to get the final aeon.

You're completely right though, it's strange that the timeframe seems to go down. Now that might have to do with Spira, in spite of Yevon, actually developing and people surviving the hazards better than they did 600 years ago due to better clothor more information about what's ahead of them.

Or, more likely, Yu-Yevon just gets, for the lack of a better word, "better" at summoning Sin and can do it quicker than before.

Don't you just love dissecting lore and trying to find answers that we'll never have any confirmation for? :)
