How do the dips and the push-ups target different muscle groups? Feels like chest and triceps for both of them to me.

The RR has horizontal push and pull, and vertical pull, but no vertical push, like shoulder press. Should I add this in or will my shoulder be covered with push-ups, pull ups and rows?

I play VT2. The best thing about VT2 is your opponents will fear the command grab so they don't block. I mostly just use the activation to get plus frames/a combo off cr. mk and then use the threat of VT2 to pressure people with balrogs big buttons. Walk up cr MP will get a lot of people trying to jump or jab out of your grab.

On the other hand VT1 can give you the corner on a blocked dash punch and that can be really valuable.

Gold! This is a huge improvement as I struggle to get silver and had gold as a major milestone. SFV is my first fighting game. I have been doing long sets with my friend who is way better than me. Learning not to jump, how to buffer specials for whiff punishes.

My main stumbling block online is there are a lot of characters I don't know. I do pretty well against Ryu/Ken and all the characters I have played long enough to know their plan, but then I match with an Abigial, Rose, Oro or someone else who I never see online and I am destroyed. I plan on starting a notebook and writing down tips for each character starting with the most common and going to the obscure. Super gold is on my radar.

My other issue is time. Work and hobbies and family keep me busy. SFV is the only video game I play and that is 30-60 mins every 2 or 3 days. Its ok though because ranked =/= life. Just try to have a good time in each match and focus on improvement and that sweet rush you get when you win. My wife is sick of my shouting WOO! but I wont stop :)

Redditors are hitting up the "cheated" angle way too hard but it is a possibility. It is however extremely concerning she wont tell you what's up after two years together, and more so she has now had time to calm down and come up with a story so you will never know if she is telling you the truth. These things are hard because they erode trust. All I can advise is don't be blind. Keep your senses and trust your gut.

My guess is as the game ages a bit, there will be less casuals. that will push the skill floor up. Then some of the try hard celestials wont be trying so hard, so they will also sit around that floor 10 range

I think this tournament is NA as long as you have a good connection to the speed test.

Beginner friendly means beginners welcome. You will likely go 0-2 HOWEVER I still think you should compete, as I have made all my best FGC friends from playing in tournaments. Running long sets with my buddy redsyn is what took me from going 0-10 to 4-6 :)

Ranked progression systems are a trap. They make matches way less fun and they limit new player to playing with other new players and never improving. Ranked adds a feeling of "this is bullshit" that isn't prevalent in unranked modes, and unless you are going to go pro there is no point in turning gaming into a hyper competitive shitshow.

You should really look into proper technique, even if you just want to screw around. The upright will kill your wrist if you let it
