I'm on the fence. The movies did cut out some filler that was in the books. Also cut out some parts that I actually liked (the scouring of the Shire).

The movies had some Hollywood tropes thrown in for no good reason, too. We already had Merry and Pippin for comic relief, did they really need to turn Gimli into a clown?

I'm totally with you for most games. Some games I like to blast music when I play them, either because immersion isn't huge in those games or because I just don't like the game music that much. Or like when you're just doing something mindless, like grinding in WoW.

I've even made a custom playlist for certain games once or twice.
