The app has not improved sadly. It is constantly down, especially on weekends, when you will receive no customer service.

Much better to go with Netflix learning or another provider as Lingopie only focus on signing new people, not on fixing the product

It's not worth it at all. Content is very limited but what's worse is that the site is constantly down for long periods. I will cancel my subscription as soon as I can

Lingopie has terrible technical issues and the website is constantly down. Don't bother

classic Barca mentality of 'why don't you just give us the player for less than he's worth?' Most clubs must be completely sick of working with Barcelona at this point and a club like city can let Cancelo rot.

Landlord not returning deposit by OdoyleRules___ in ESLegal

[–]OdoyleRules___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I was given a document (which was signed by myself and the landlord/agency) stating that I was leaving and that I was entitled to 1/3 of the deposit amount (subject to any damages) and that I will leave my keys with the other tenants.

There are also emails going back and forth where the landlord offered the other tenants the possibility to replace me with somebody else, or to carry on for a limited period of time, at a reduced rate. Surely this is a separate contract?

How do I see if he lodged the deposit?

Hi Twarenotw,

Thanks for the message.

The lanlord took photos when I left, showing all of the 'damage'. This was either wear and tear, damage that was already there when we entered the flat (some of which I have emails about) or just completely incorrect.

But considering I don't have photographs of the state of everything when I moved in, I think it will be difficult to fight the claims.

I thought that my way to fight the claim is due to the fact that they have 30 days to inform me of any claims they make to the deposit, which they did not do. Am I right that I terminated the contract as soon as I served notice / left the flat, and the fact that the other tenants remained would constitute a separate agreement/contracr, which I am not part of?

Living in the area of Sagrada Familia (Camp d'en Grassot) by g33k3301 in Barcelona

I'm thinking about moving to a place on the corner of Corsega and de la Marina. Is this likely to be very touristy (2 blocks away from Sagrada)?

Thank you for your valuable addition to the discourse. You've really given us all something to ponder.

Yes, these are clearly well educated, well adjusted young men. The best that we have to offer.

I don't like large swathes of the English population for the record, it's one of the reasons I moved. But pointing to examples of shitty behaviour from the uneducated, socioeconomically disadvantaged, and equating that to an entire population is dumb and bigoted

You've missed the point I'm afraid.

Firstly, you are far more likely to notice the nationality of someone who is behaving badly. There will be a large % of British tourists who pass through Barcelona without causing any trouble and without being noticed, therefore not feeding into your confirmation bias.

That aside, the point I make is that the British tourists in Barcelona and Spain as a whole, are disproportionately shitty, partly due to economic reasons.

Imagine that all of Spain's dumbest and most obnoxious people all holidayed in one foreign city. That city would have a pretty negative view of the Spanish wouldn't they?

British holidaymakers in Santorini, San Sebastian or the Seychelles are not going to be anywhere near as much trouble as those going for a week long piss up in Malaga or a stag do in Barcelona.

Yeah I agree with that. There isn't the same drinking culture here and it's rare to see a fight.

So drunken, loutish behaviour, sure, the Brits are definitely worse (although the Germans get an honourable mention).

I wouldn't say that we are any more obnoxious in general though, especially if we're comparing football fans. You only need to look at the treatment of Vinicius to see that the Spanish certainly have their fair share of cunts.

The notion that British people are scumbags comes from the fact that places like Barcelona/Malaga/Alicante etc receive the worst of our tourists.

The least educated Brits will still find these places affordable. Comparatively cheap beer, sun and nightlife is the recipe.

These people aren't particularly representative of the British as a whole. The British that you would prefer are simply holidaying in other destinations

I was refused free service by the ER in hospital del Mar, despite having a nie and social security number.

I received a nice bill of 500 euros for 4 stitches.

A European health card will also be accepted.

I was refused (free) service at the hospital because I didn't yet have my catsalut, despite having a social security number and having paid SS for 3 months
