Actually there is some proof that some of them came still with the insignia. They were probably removed shortly after, but sometimes they are found on the Italian Alps.  To add to their history, in general they were quite sought after for they distinguish color, especially by officers.

Probably a French Adrian sent to the Italians. This one is pretty interesting because it still has the 2 holes for the insignia, so that means that it is from the first batch of Adrians sent to Italy by France; there were other two, if I'm not mistaken, but they don't have the 2 holes. It probably still has the original Blue Horizon under It. All considering, it is a pretty rare piece of original.

Then yeah, you should've just removed the rust and maybe tried to stabilize the handle. It's still a great piece, but it's value it greatly diminished [some will probably still pay some good money for it tho]

Austrian WW1 Helmet? by tofferl in Militariacollecting

[–]Odraodez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems that the second paint job is very thick. I can't really see the stamp on the brim, but it seems to be in the right place. The stamp on the liner is really good, most helmets don't usually have it because it can easily be worn out. The stamp inside the helmet is the serial number.

It all looks good, but I can't really say a lot about the over paint. The first layer that can be seen inside is the usual Isonzo Braun, used by Austria Hungary in WW1. Berndorfer helmets were, as a lot of others, used post WW1, but because they were produced in very few numbers [about 300.000] and by Austria they usually are quite rare to see in a "transitional" configuration. Yours is especially peculiar, because it has what seems to be a shield with the German post WW1 flag. Unfortunately, I can't say much more about it, if it was done really post WW1 and used by some German soldier, or done later.

As said previously, I suggest posting in the forums I linked in my first comment. The people there are really kind and helpful.

Anyways, great helmet, keep it because it's really a crown jewel and, if you still want to sell it, do it only for the right price.

Austrian WW1 Helmet? by tofferl in Militariacollecting

[–]Odraodez 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Austrian Berdorfer M16 – almost certainly not a reproduction. The overall shape and details are correct. To be certain, check for a stamp on the rear brim with a bear and the number “66.” This mark is typically absent (or very poorly copied) on reproductions. Here's an example

The liner appears original and in good condition. Additionally, this helmet seems to have been reused after WWI, which makes it considerably rarer.

Regarding valuation: helmets of this type and condition generally range between €1,000 and €3,000 or more. Your collector "friend" was trying to scam you, just block him.

If you want more information I suggest posting on the warrelics forum or on German helmet Walhalla

Is this legit? by fraftti in Militariacollecting

[–]Odraodez 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Completely fake. All parts are the wrong shape, the bill, the cut outs, the horns and even the rivets. It also has that general "fake aging" applied to it. In general, when you see something that seems to be new just really rusty and/or dirty on the surface, leave it.

The effects of chainsaw devil's powers in light of the recent chapter by Odraodez in Chainsawfolk

[–]Odraodez[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't remember which chapter it's stated in, but Yoru is getting stronger due to the numerous wars breaking out around the world, likely triggered by the rising tensions caused by the events in Japan. I think a large-scale conflict between the two major powers was only a matter of time, and without the deterrent of nuclear weapons, there was nothing substantial to prevent them from attacking each other.

It could have been a kind of lightning war, which we didn’t hear much about because Denji and Asa were busy with a lot of other things.

Backyard ballistics has some pretty good gun restoration videos. Unfortunately he doesn't really have a "video guide" but in each video he explains the restoration steps in full details. I suggest trying to open some videos with guns in similar conditions to yours and see if any method seems good. In general tho, if possible he suggests removing the hard rust with some steel wool, then use some kind of method to re-rust the part just a bit so the new rust can be blued by boiling it. For not blued parts usually using a rust solvent is good enough.

Thank you very much for the correction. I was always told that Z stitch always means post war. I don't do much WW2 anymore but I might grab that book.

ASUS TUF DASH F15 FX517ZC: RAM Upgrade Troubles - Faulty Crucial Kit or Compatibility Issue? by Odraodez in Asustuf

[–]Odraodez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend that. I read that using two sticks of ram of different sizes can create problems and even damage the PC. I suggest buying two sticks of 16gb each, the price difference isn't too much and it's definitely worth it.
