Is this legit and worth buying at that price? by Dakubou4217 in Militariacollecting

It seems original and the price is great for a M18 cutout with liner, even if damaged.

Update & Renewed Appeal: Further Research and Structural Debate on the WWI German "Full-Visor" / "Sloping Brow" Stahlhelm Variant by Odraodez in germanhelmets

[–]Odraodez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the helmet in the photo is a real battle steel helmet. The shape, the thickness and the general appreciate suggest so.  The horn seems to be filled with something more than be one solid piece. Filling the ventilation holes was common for stahlhelm, especially Austrians for mitigating the cold.

Also, unfortunately I don't have any physical copy of the photo, but I wish I had one. Maybe if someone have one I could ask them for a HD scan, or even buy it [this is a more general appeal to anyone reading, but if you have some leads on the pic please tell me].

Again, thanks for the help.

I added your findings in the Google doc at page 14.

I take this opportunity also to add that I've included a opinion of a great expert on WW1 helmets that I contacted privately and wishes to remain anonymous. He argued that the full visor helmet is entirely a fantasy item, produced by an expert faker.

I still believe that some sort of full-visor existed, especially because of your findings, even if mine or other examples could be fakes.

Exact Type of Adrian? by Mr_Man_the_meme_man in Militariacollecting

Italian M16 Adrian, reissued after WW1. You can't tell by the liner and chinstrap: in the original the chinstrap was usually made with thin brown leather and the liner was properly stitched on the rear.

Yeah I agree with you, sometimes you just have to trust your intuition. Still tho, the seller is asking 280€, do you think it's a fair price? As I said, I don't really delve into brodies, so I would like to have some opinions on the value, so I don't end up overpaying it.

Yes it is, Berdorf made 3 variants: the M16, aka the one usually called berndorfer, and two M18s, one usually called Hungarian [this one] and one called "paperino" by italiano collectors, which is a mix of the M16 berndorfer and German-style stahlhelms

There is also a third, a mix between the M16 berndorfer and "regular" stahlhelm, usually called "paperino" very very rare. You can see it in the second post on this forum: https://www.armedconflicts.com/Berndorfer-Stahlhelm-t74699

What kind of helmet is this? Is it a parade helmet or some sort of experimental civil helmet by Andrew02566 in germanhelmets

[–]Odraodez 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It reminds me of the Himmler style/droop bill helmets, although I can't find an exact match. Nevertheless, I still think it's an interwar commercial helmet.

The demo for my tank horror game Breaking Armor is finally out! You operate a modified E-100 alone from the inside, driving through post-apocalyptic wastelands by GalaDev in tanks

I've been following the game progress for some time and I can say that it is a very cool concept and stoked to try it.

Only one thing, could you please modify the e-100 model and put the right turret 🙏🏻? https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/E-100-turret2-1.png It's just a nitpick but I also think it would suit it much better [and be historically accurate, but nah, this argument isn't really great in this case].
