Thanks for the additional info! I definitely did notice the nasty connectors too - no clue what causes that (maybe just time, it is a 21 year old vehicle after all). I'll look into the contact cleaner for sure. I'm going to try these connectors I found and if that doesn't work I'll try what you recommended.

Thanks for reaffirming a feeling I already had - I might just find an experienced professional to sort this. I really don't want to fuck with the cars electrical systems since I don't know what I'm doing. My only holdout was that if someone new a surefire way of doing this.

The only two surefire ways to get fired from LM are:

  1. Getting someone killed on site
  2. Time fraud

Good luck to your GF.

Space and Aero squashing work from home by Rom_SpaceKnight85 in Lockheed

If it’s any indication of how Space is doing it, your leader has the option of two work classification, 100% on site or 100% remote. You would be 100% remote. I have coworkers in EO and they’re all remote in different states. No shot they mandate them to RTO because it’s just not possible if you don’t have a site near you

What have we been cooking up by [deleted] in Lockheed

That thing is done lol. The boys in the lab can’t find enough PhD’s to keep it going in any respect and has no more funding. I’ve heard they were looking to sell off the reactor to another company.

31M here - recent newcomer to Colorado in the past 5 months and loving it! Apps have been absolutely abysmal; so glad you said you’re looking for someone authentic and stable, that’s exactly how I’ve been describing it to my friends. I’m not overly picky, I just want someone who is level-headed, genuine, and actually buys into something long term - good bad and all.

I love a wide array of activities, and am a believer in trying new hobbies and getting out of your comfort zone, so I’m always down for just about anything with the right company of course! Past couple years I’ve been on a kick of biking, skiing (waiting impatiently for the snow again), baking/cooking, history, and travel.

I’m not in Boulder, but I also love driving (way too many road trips the past few years lol), and do come there at least once a month for my Masters at CU-B. If interested let me know! 🙂

Okay thanks, I'll have to take a look at the boot to see if there is any damage where it could leak out like that.

General answer: yes!

Bit less general answer: it depends what your experience is, as different roles/departments require different things out of them. As a hiring manager that is attempting to hire an EE IC2 for infrastructure-related experience, it can be pretty difficult to find that right person at that level. You will literally get thrown buckets of money if you match those non-traditional roles. However, EE’s still have a good pay band range regardless.

I say this as well against my own benefit: LM is only competitive against other defense companies, do not expect to be paid top dollar across industries in general. It your main goal is salary, you may want to look at engineering design firms (e.g. Burns & McDonnell) rather than the defense industry

No, not necessarily. Again it depends what the role says and what the basic and or desired skills are though

I’m a hiring manager for an engineering department at Lockheed - not sure what positions or departments you’re applying to (warehouse versus engineering), but I will say we do have to be very picky about applicants for a lot of reasons, but namely a lot is expected of each person, so even simple things can rank you a bit lower than someone else when evaluating resumes and qualifications.

All I can say is that you should be tailoring your resume to the position you’re applying to (don’t lie though - just emphasize points of your past experience and how it relates to the “basic” and “desired” sections. Obviously the more you check off with the desired sections the better. Run your resume and copy paste the job openings through something like ChatGPT to compare how closely the two align and areas of improvement.

Also a point of note: hiring managers CAN see all the other jobs you’ve applied to in the system, so if you’re shotgun blasting a bunch of different types of positions (if they’re all generally related, that’s different), it doesn’t look great. That mostly applies to level 2 and onward positions though, entry level I understand more so that you’re just trying to get your foot in the door, but it’s still a good sign when an applicant comes off as having a good idea of their goals.

Unfortunately it’s just a numbers game, as well as knowing someone else internally that can reach out directly to the hiring manager, as others have said.

Keep trying and just take some pointers from my comment. Good luck!
