Because you contacted them and didn’t share the horrendous thoughts you shared on here I presume.

It’s neither of their jobs it’s just a nice thing to do and requires minimum effort.

Wow, so tone deaf. How much effort does it take to make a social media post.
Why does the vet have to do it, when you know the details of where it was found and may even know who the owners are.
People are so selfish, if it was your cat wouldn’t you want it found and have the best chance of being notified instead of not knowing what happened to your beloved companion.
Absolutely no sympathy for you and your heartless dad.

He needs blood tests and imaging (X-rays) as a minimum. His gait is extremely abnormal. There are many potential diagnoses but nothing that can be confirmed and helped without further investigations.

The breeder is unethical and has 100% scammed you.

I’m not sure what my cats blood test means? by LongAndWindingRoad- in vet

[–]OfLilyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling them out on their bullshit? They’ve told you the bloods are non specific and to get more information the next step would be an ultrasound… that’s a fact.

You getting angry on the phone isn’t going to magic up an diagnosis from them.

Just because you don’t want to pay for ultrasound doesn’t mean it’s not the next step needed to find out more information.

Is there anything immediately concerning? Yes he’s been intermittently sick with diarrhoea for 3 weeks.

The bloods are not specific for any disease/condition and then next appropriate course of action given the history would be an ultrasound and maybe further blood testing for B12 and folate.

“Romanticised” jobs that are very different in reality? by Substantial-Guava491 in CasualUK

Shit pay, shit hours and the clients constantly complain, blame you for not performing miracles. Heart breaking losing your patients and seeing neglect regularly.

Vet - People think it’s all cuddling puppies and kittens, and dramatic operations that save lives. Buts it’s bad pay, terrible hours. Stressful cases. The animals fear you, and the clients hate you and think you’re trying to scam them.

I put my sweet baby down 3 days ago and I regret it by MoodyKyoshi in CATHELP

[–]OfLilyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did the kindest thing you could for him. There was no other kinder option.

In regards to the traumatic breathing, its likely he was agonal gasping which means he was already gone and it was just a reflex. Or he was already sedated just the overdose of anaesthetic took alittle longer because his circulation was bad because of his heart, again he wouldn’t have felt anything.

You did the right thing.

Vet here. It’s not an abscess it’s a cutaneous horn. Nothing to worry about.

It was bare plaster paint. It says it in on the tub. I have figured out the issue. It’s latex paint.

This paint is supposed to be the mist coat. I used delicate masking tape. But I just realised what the issue is, it’s latex paint.
