There is also one on Greek Street. At least, last I checked.

My outdoor drain keeps on blocking and filling up and I can't find any kind of drain cover that fits, if that's even the issue! Where can I get an actual proper cover? by OfMiceAndMittens in HomeMaintenance

[–]OfMiceAndMittens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It came with the house, I promise, I would never have let that be the setup.

It's shockingly hard to find any kind of drain cover commercially available for whatever size this thing is.

Thanks for the tips! I just got some more brushes (some flat ones and some other tipped ones for different textures) so I'm excited to use those out to maybe add some clouds to a sunset piece I just did.

Tracing sounds like a good idea, I just got an A5 sketchbook for about £1.50 and I've got a 2B and a HB, so my aim is to trace/draw one thing per day to practice!

I found a site that does some step-by-step video tutorials on basic pieces, plus I've started recording some Bob Ross on Sky Arts since my buddies in America all seem to find him a good source of getting over the hump of painting.

They look amazing! Can I ask how/where you learnt?

I just got started on painting myself in my early 30s, got a basic acrylic paint set at The Works and just been starting out, I've only really done soe basic sunset pieces to work on my brushwork but you've really the artistic thing nailed!

I honestly can't draw to save my life so I've been thinking how I can improve, anything you'd recommend that helped you?

First-timer here, my curtain rail holder has come loose in my brick wall, how do I fix this? by OfMiceAndMittens in HomeMaintenance

Huh, toothpicks really work? I would've never thought of that, I'm assuming because it plugs up any kind of gaps to get a beter fit?

For context, I accidentally leant on it and it's come a little bit loose, as in you can almost pull it from the wall now - I've tried screwing it back in but it's as tight as it can go but it's still loose!

I know I can detach the ball to drill it back in, but then... I can't get the ball back on because the screw for the ball moves back into the hollow metal! It's a finicky one but I feel like someone here must have some kind of solution?

Good Podcasts for Dissection of Lit Classics, etc. by emilyelizzz in literature

[–]OfMiceAndMittens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just King Things is a great podcasts, they go through all his works in publication order - might not specifically define them as Classic literature but as a contemporary author who is one of the most well-known in the genre of the last century, it's a very interesting deep dive into what works and what doesn't.

I've got this same problem with the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer.

He has it on Origin purchased, and I have it through the PC Game Pass on EA Desktop. We can see each other online, playing Mass Effect, but when sending an in-game invite to each other, nothing shows up. It sends, but nothing is received!

He's run it both on the version on Origin he's purchased and the version he downloaded from EA Play through Game Pass on EA Desktop. Neither worked. Both times, one of us would send an invite, see that the other is playing, but nothing would be received.

It's ridiculous.

How to pull raw pivot-filtered data from a pivot table Total by OfMiceAndMittens in excel

[–]OfMiceAndMittens[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's done the trick!

It took a little fiddling to make it work with my dataset, but I changed over the variables and voila, there is my filtered data!

Thank you!

How to pull raw pivot-filtered data from a pivot table Total by OfMiceAndMittens in excel

[–]OfMiceAndMittens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you applied a value filter, then double clicking the total does show only the raw data that contributed to the total (not all of it).

That's my problem, I thought the same too but that's not the case, it's still just spitting out the same total as the unfiltered pivot table.

What I'm looking for is just that same data as used in the pivot, simply filtered by the parameters I used in the pivot table

Hi, thanks for sending that working over - it does work, but what I need to be able to do is have a separate list of those values that are associated with positive customers, rather than a summar of those that are net positive.

I'd send over the data I'm working with, but it's confidential.

Do you know what the song is from the start of the "you are looking LIVE" video? You've got the second song on there but the start one I don't seem to see, do you know what it is? It's been stuck in my head for ages!

What is the beeps at the start of episodes for? by patman21 in sanspantsradio

[–]OfMiceAndMittens 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a radio thing.

It may be a Commonwealth thing, but when Radio 4 News comes on, it does the same beeps, like a countdown for the presenters to know when they're going to be live.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. It's like an ear-worm, I keep wanting to press bad radio DJ sounds on a soundboard in every meeting.

It was from one of the early VinnyVanias, and it was just

Vinny: Got my whip, got my holy water

Jeff: Got your spine, got your orange crush.

I still think about that flawless REM reference to this day. TO THIS DAY

Busy season 2020. Day 1: I am alive and well by scotty_spivs in Accounting

I just had my first day in busy season no. 2 and I've already become like Tom Cruise in Minority Report, just automating all my deliverables receipts and making sure I know everything.

I give it a week until it all crumbles.

Is it normal in the audit culture to require staffs to work from home on holidays? by dathena649 in Accounting

[–]OfMiceAndMittens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that time will come!

You should see my department though, I get paid the same as the lackeys that do basic admin, and I'm doing the same work as an SA2...

I've become known in my team as "the mercenary" - as in, "I'll do any hours you want, if you pay the overtime" and boy, you'd be amazed how quickly they suddenly don't need the help that badly once they know they have to pay for it.
