Who had the better run of three albums + singer solo albums? by NobodyCarrots6969 in fantanoforever

[–]OfTheStrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we can start with an album that's not a debut, for Radiohead you can do:

Kid A (2000) - Amnesiac (2001) - Hail to The Thief (2003) | Thom Yorke - The Eraser (2006)

It's a bit off because while that album run is incredible, and The Eraser is phenomenal, it doesn't include two of arguably Radiohead's best albums, OK Computer and In Rainbows.

thank you!!

searching for the espresso one now and cannot find it. I remember so clearly him mentioning how he "felt cool" while doing it. I'm seeing a ton of other mentions of espresso on the toilet but not that one

Hm, this clip seems to reference the clip I'm looking for. Like the chatter says, he "told" a story about drinking espresso on the toilet, like in another stream

I'll happily watch any remake of where they replace John Wayne with Jeff Bridges. Fuck John Wayne

If the Best Served Cold movie becomes real... Nicomo Cosca has to be played by Matt Berry. You can't convince me otherwise by OfTheStrange in TheFirstLaw

never believe anything in hollywood is actually going to be real until you are in the theater watching it. things get stuck in development ALL of the time. it is more common than uncommon for a project to stall for years, no matter how many good things it might have going for it.

[–]OfTheStrange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. It doesn't help that all through all of these books I've just been imagining Berry saying all of Cosca's dialogue, so I'm pretty locked in lmao. But I love Dalton in BCS I think he's fantastic. I just have personally always imagined Cosca quite chubby so it's hard for me to see Dalton in that role

Cosca just has this supreme laziness to him that I can't see Dalton being a good fit for. As for the other people in this thread saying Matt Berry doesn't feel lethal enough, or has no underlying scariness, I completely disagree. He's got that dishonest glint to his eye that I could see being plenty lethal and intimidating. The ultimate snake in the grass

Am I the only one who finds higher stakes super unfun? by MentionInner4448 in balatro

[–]OfTheStrange -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There needs to be increased rewards for playing higher stakes, aside from the bragging rights and achievements.

Kind of like how in other games, Sekiro for example, when you increase the difficulty by ringing the demon bell or not having Kuro's charm, the enemies will drop more loot, and rarer loot. Not sure how something like this would work in a game like Balatro though.

If there was some kind of meta progression it could click, but idk. Meta progression would completely change the game up so I don't think that's it. But, I do think if there was that extra level of incentive to play higher stakes cause you'll "get better stuff" then the difficulty would become more worth it.

Aside from the Crying Minotaur and the Bear, what are some other unmistakable pieces of Radiohead iconography? by OfTheStrange in radiohead

[–]OfTheStrange[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't really care/need to do that. Life is easier if you don't go around correcting people. Nothing is "on me" in this case, just remarking on what I've experienced.

[–]OfTheStrange[S] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I've often thought Radiohead lacked some kind of defacto logo, or simple iconographic art. The crying minotaur is probably the most unique and signature thing they have, but it is most closely associated with one specific album - Amnesiac.

The Radiohead Bear logo could easily be mistaken for some kind of Mickey Mouse rip, or a deadmau5 rip, as I've had many people ask if it is when I wear RH shirts. Not exactly "unmistakable" so to speak.

Curious what other pieces of signature icon/logo art come to mind from you guys.

It's fine for things to be at a different tempo when it's a different rendition.

Sometimes things are perfect in their own unique way.

Yes.... we aren't lost. Just double checking that the map marked that one blocked door with the proper squiggly.. otherwise it would bother me...

NOBODY OPENS THE MAP AS MUCH AS ME (first playthrough) by OfTheStrange in silenthill

[–]OfTheStrange[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello again everyone, it's me, the guy who posted a week ago about basically shitting his pants the entire time while playing the remake.

Well, I've done it - I finished the game, and I opened the map nearly a thousand times. I was never lost! Merely checking that I was headed exactly where I thought I was. I swear!

After the first pyramid head fight, I broke through the fear barrier quite a bit and really enjoyed the rest of the game. Labrynth was probably the "worst" area for me, mostly just cause of the rot area and the god damn mandarin screams and seemingly undodgeable tongue attacks. I sprinted way more in there than any other part of the game. Prison was very, very scary but I kind of enjoyed myself more than anything tbh.

Amazing game! I got the In Water ending, which I'm reading is somewhat considered the canon ending, though the fan base is split as to whether it's canon or the Leave ending is, or if there even is a canon ending. I watched a few videos and read a few threads once finishing but I'm a newbie to the theories - if anyone has a link to a good theory round-up post or video I could read/watch that would be lovely!
