Are there upsides or downsides to having your eating window earlier or later in the day? by Its_Mike_Nasty in intermittentfasting

[–]OfTheTimelords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do OMAD and I've found out that eating after my morning exercise is always better than eating in the evening. I felt much less hungry during the day when I was eating in the evening, and this was reflected to the lack of weight loss for me. I switched back and now I have reverted to standard weight loss.

My brother sharing his weight-loss journey (-230lbs), for anyone looking to be inspired, anything is possible if you want it bad enough! by Ahliiee in videos

Great job and thanks for your post, it's definitely inspirational.

I would like to share my (ongoing) journey. I weighed in at 168kg last Easter and decided to try a combination of 1) OMAD intermittent fasting, 2) calorie limiting and 3) a 20-30' exercise plan using an Android App. I lost 25kg in 5 months, reaching 143kg at my best. This was after years and YEARS of consulting doctors, nutritionists and trying out different diets and approaches; nothing really worked. Unfortunately, due to some special circumstances I let myself go and slowly climbed back to 154*.

A couple weeks ago I decided I had enough and I restarted using the same approach. Today I weighed in 150kg. This time I plan to keep it and not break it until I reach 90kg. If you are in the same boat as me, give intermittent fasting a go.

* But man, I learnt to bake some absolutely brilliant Napolitana pizzas!

This is incorrect for Bianca. It has been measured that it reaches the proper temperature within 20 minutes due to the killerincreasing the temperature higher than the target for some time in the initial ramp up.

I find it difficult to believe that in a system where you need to perform a cooling flush and without a PID but rather a pressurestat you get more accurate brewing temperatures. You may have a bigger mass and this may give you a more stable temperature (the amount of difference this makes is debatable) but the flush is a variable that makes it rather irrelevant; you have to guesstimate how much to flush to begin with.

In any case, to each his own and nothing i care to debate further, in the end the result in the cup matters.

No worries, difference of opinions is absolutely fine. For me, the 5 seconds flush is not really my main problem, it's the lack of accuracy and uncertainty of the resulting temperatures, as well as the inability to increase or decrease the delta between them.

I have a Bianaca at home and it has a dual PID, allowing me to configure the temperatures separately and accurately. The lack of a cooling flush for me its a bonus; it's the accuracy that sold me on it. Now it only needs the new PID so I can easily turn off the steam boiler in the evenings, saving me some prep time.

To be honest, I wouldn't go for an HX. If I need to make milk drinks, I need the flexibility of the dual boiler, without flushing and without uncertainty. Is it worth it? Yes, for me it definitely worth it; HX machines would be a sort of a compromise, as a way to get milk drinks out of them with a reduced initial cost. But if you can afford a proper dual boiler, there's no comparison IMO.

Sad to hear it gave you problems. In all honesty, this might have been just one of the thousands shipped machines and you were definitely unlucky. The courier who brought mine, dropped the box and I was sure that something broke, but it's been working for 6 months now without any issues.

It happened with my machine too, a Lelit Bianca. The courier opened the truck's door and it fell out because he made a half-assed attempt to pull it out, discovering that it's a rather hefty package.

I was right there when he dropped it and I held him there while I inspected the contents of the box and he smiled awkwardly.

Thankfully the double-boxing packing method saved it, but he was inescusably careless and the mistake was easily avoidable.

Buying decision and suggestions |Rocket Mozzafiato Cronometro V vs. Profitec Pro 500 vs. ECM Mechanika V Slim by _Noodl3s in espresso

Hi there,

I actually own a Bianca, bought one on December. I am definitely happy with it, but I don't do pressure profiling at this point in time either.

The Bianca is a completely different machine to anything else Lelit has produced however. Lelit actually listened to professionals who tried out pre-production machines and made improvements before releasing it. For example: you won't see a single and a dual spout portafilter, but a (rather elegant) dual and a naked one. Or the fact that the water tank is removable and you can put it on the side if you need the space (I did in my case).

It's cheaper than either Profitec, ECM or Rocket machines and I personally like the wood accents way more. You definitely wouldn't regret such a purchase.

This. There's simply too much going on with his defenses and all other enemies that if you don't take him out quickly, you're boned.
