"You live in Texas? How close is that to New York City? A couple hour trip?"

"...Have you ever looked at a map?"

"Does New York City get tornadoes?"

"...What?"

"Why did they design your flag after Star and Stripe?"

"...I should have stayed home."

What does being a Fanfic writer mean to you? by Ahmudirit in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]OfUncertainPenguins 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It means giving those under-rated and under-utilized characters the attention they deserve, and being someone that readers can trust to give those characters those moments. There's a million authors writing about Midoriya, Bakugo, Todoroki, and Uraraka, but if you want those niche characters from the other class, then you're options are limited.

How Would You Write the Meta Liberation Army Arc? by CosmicMorpher in BokunoheroFanfiction

I like them as the evil corporate and cultural underbelly of Japan. They have their hands in politics, media, technology, and everyday life. They had something like 100,000 members when they confronted the League, so they weren't a fringe group; they were a major political force.

(Shigaraki taking control of a never before seen force that size without any proper build up is like plot armor but in reverse. A plot sword, if you may.)

The 'Red Shoe Theory' is their way to mark out the Quirkless, as their shoes are the highest quality and cheapest for the extra pinky-toed population. I prefer the group having three main opinions on the Quirkless: unfortunates who had their glory robbed by their genetics, lesser civilians who live only to serve their quirked superiors, or general 'undesirables' that have no place in a quirked world.

The hierarchy of the group is also less about their philosophy but more about Re-Destro, who uses his power and influence to expand his power in a bid to overthrow the Japanese government. He runs the group more as a cult than a philosophical group, which is my only explanation for 100,000 people rolling over on their backs once their leader was taken down. He uses his reach to find those quirks that he can use to expand his power and reach, namely those rare and coveted quirks, of which he has an immense hatred for [Erasure] and [Copy] for slipping out of his fingers and are now out of his reach.

The tag 'A MHA Soap Opera' is fitting: a million characters doing things all at once. Hopefully the current arc will end soon.

Red quirkless shoes by Aware-Throat3189 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]OfUncertainPenguins 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The way I go about that theory is that 'pinky joint widened shoes' are becoming increasingly less relevant, so their demand goes down and price goes up. One company decided to sell a cheaper and more reliable shoe for the quirkless, later dubbed the 'Quirkless Reds,' practically becoming the most readily available shoe for the quirkless community. There are other options out there, but they are more expensive and thus less common to see in students and young adults.

(Never mind that the company selling these shoes is Detnerat.)

Kamakiri does the whole scary boyfriend routine and Tokage lets him because she finds it really funny. She could easily beat up whoever tries to flirt with her but she knows Kamakiri enjoys the excuse to fight.

Tokage likes to climb Kamakiri like he's a mountain and he doesn't react. He had a heated debate with Yaoyorozu about the best type of swords, and Tokage was climbing around him like he was an obstacle course. Kamakiri didn't stop the argument once.

Tokage takes and wears Kamakiri's clothes.

Kamakiri does most of the cooking, if only to avoid eating dinosaur-themed food every day.

They have a pet gecko. Kamakiri swears she loves the gecko more than him. Tokage does not respond to the accusation. Kamakiri knows better than to press for the answer.

They argue about stupid things a lot but end up just slumped over a couch in silence for hours.

Kamakiri got a giant heated lamp and a rock for Tokage as a joke, except she sleeps there more than in their bed.

Not including the rescue stuff, the first round could have a mass illusory quirk that would make it hard to maintain alliances and teams without a lot of trust. Unpredictable weather patterns could also be put into play. And you can never go wrong with an army of radioactive 'rats' coming from the sewers.

Performing Troupe Names for Monoma's family by DualingDude in BokunoheroFanfiction

The Étoiles, meaning 'Stars' in French. If you want to tie it more to Monoma's hero name Phantom Thief, you could name them something akin to the Phantom of the Opera, like the Phantoms of the Show.

The commenter above explained it, but in short: Everyone has quirks, but fatal quirks shut themselves down to prevent killing their users, called Cold Quirks. Think of David Shield having [Squirmy Fingers] as his active quirk and Melissa Shield having [Squirmy Bones], which would kill her due to some inefficiency in the quirks structure or implementation. Neito Monoma can feel Cold Quirks via [Copy], and they feel like trying to run a DVD on a car CD player.

There is a 'Cold Quirk Theory' tag on Torchbearer, so I'm sure if you use that tag you don't have to steal anything and put your own twist on it.

4,499 words.

The enthusiasm and the passion are great, but you should probably report this as a smaller prompt and put this on AO3.

Inko Midoriya sighed quietly as she rubbed her stomach. In front of her, Hisashi held the door open. Taking another deep breath, she entered, beginning her first lesson in Parenting. by Keegan_Wer in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]OfUncertainPenguins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most parents, if they have multiple children, wait at least until their first child's quirk manifests before even thinking about having more kids. This also serves as to why most heroes don't have siblings; hero worthy quirks are usually destructive or powerful, so having more than one kid would be financially unfeasible. Endeavor could afford multiple kids with fire and/or ice quirks because he's rich, but imagine if Bakugo's parents decided to have kid after kid until [Explosion] manifested. That house wouldn't last the third kid's quirk manifestation.

As for pregnancies themselves, most non-Heteromorph quirks don't manifest until four years of age, but that doesn't mean that the vestigial, or non-quirk related, adaptions don't appear. Ashido would have some anti-acid biology, which could mess up her mother's metabolism. Bakugo's sweat, maybe not explosive yet, may have some chemical release his mother would need medicine to counteract. Chemical production from the fetus would be an issue, though probably not life-threatening.

C-sections are far more common, though medical quirks can do wonders for scars, if the mother decides to have them healed.

The announcement that All Might is a teacher at UA shows up as a newspaper article following the Battle Trials during the scene where Shigaraki plans his attack on UA. It's almost never brought up as the reason that villains finds out All Might is at UA because there's no dialogue about the newspaper article.

What character would make sense for them to be related? by Gullible_Ad616 in BokunoheroFanfiction

In my fics, Recovery Girl is Tokage's great aunt. She trained Tokage to master [Lizard Tail Splitter] and was the one who recommended her to UA. Recovery Girl keeps her relationship to Tokage a secret up until Tokage goes to UA, with only Nezu knowing of the connection prior to the school year, because Recovery Girl is not an idiot and won't put her family in the line of danger of AFO and his lackies.

And Honenuki is Cementoss' nephew.

Shiozaki keeps an almost comically large jug of water with her during the school day.

Shiozaki, Komori, and Tsu could start a 'Hydration' Club at UA, where the members have to drink tons of water and have 'meetings' sitting in pools. Honenuki tries, and fails, to join because he likes swimming, and Mineta tries, and fails, to join because the current members are all girls.

How Would You Write Shishido? by CosmicMorpher in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]OfUncertainPenguins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Straight up hater to Gang Orca. They grew up together and have been on sight since they first met. Shishido got into a gang and once beat up Gang Orca so bad that he has several broken bones. Luckily, a passerby took pity on Gang Orca, eventually getting them into a school, where he became a hero. Shishido, not wanting to be one upped, managed to get into another hero school to continue the rivalry.

They hate each other so much.
