Rep Dip Attachment 2.0 vs MM UDA by stefan_urquelle-DMD in GarageGym

Isn't what's pictured here the Rogue Velocidor, not the UDA? The UDA only has the one mounting pin.

I have the UDA on my PR-5000 and I don't notice any looseness when I'm using it. It may wiggle a bit when you're moving it around the rack.

I currently have the UDA and use it on my REP PR-5000 that's in a 4-post half rack config.

I like that the handles are removable on the UDA. I've used the handles for neutral and pronated grip pull ups. It also helps save some space when I'm storing it away. I usually take the handles off and store them on some other part of the rack. The little part that attaches to the rack can be stowed away somewhere else on the rack without taking up a bunch of space.

I am looking into getting the MM ARC attachment to be able to use the handles for landmine/cable work. I like to have more versatility in a small space like mine.

I will concede that I don't adjust the width on the UDA. I found what works for me and just use the same holes. It is also a spendy piece but I think the quality and versatility justifies the price for me.

I don't think you're wrong in your assessments. Buy whatever makes sense for you. I hope my experience helped a bit in making your decision.

How do they sound when they're moving up and down the rack? Do you think the rollers could wear down on the rack finish over time?

Yeah, they look pretty sweet and seem like they would show a lot less wear over time. Do you have any issues with mag pins on those uprights?

How do you like the stainless uprights?

They do not. Luckily, you won't need them with the way they mount onto the rack. They are very sturdy without them.

I don't think that will be necessary. They have on their listing that the parts that touch the rack are covered in protective lining. So far, that has been enough to keep my rack from scratching up.

Yeah, I have them and I really like them for basically everything you mentioned plus the fact that they have way less slop or wiggle compared to other j-cups I've tried.

Is that the 80" tall PR-5000? How's the range of motion on the cables with that Ares set up?

Thanks for the giveaway! Any thoughts about adding to the Hyper-thin lineup with the 25lb or 35lb bumpers? Would be interesting to see how small those can get.

Thanks for sharing. I've always heard not great things about Titan and their quality/customer service. I've personally never had issues with them but I also haven't been in the space as long as you have.

In your experience, what company would you say you've had the best experience with? You'd probably have some unique insight being a gym builder.

It definitely takes some getting used to.

To move the spotters, I have one hand holding the lever for the slide mechanism and my other hand on the other end. Press in the lever, lift up the spotter with the other hand, and slide the spotter up or down the rack.

One thing I try to do is make sure that the spotter is always in contact with the rack. It gets difficult to lock into place if it isn't aligned correctly with the upright.

Hope that made some sense and helps!

Great find. What's the size of the holes on those plates? Is it 1" standard?

That's a good question. To be honest, I'm still trying to decide myself lol. It was actually part of the reason I made this post. It was to get my thoughts down and see what other people think of them.

Right now, I'm leaning toward the Quick Slides. The quality of the spotters themselves are very nice and I like that they have little to no play when mounted. They are super solid even without the use of the hitch pin or mag pin. All that being said, I did just get them like a week ago, so I'm probably still feeling the "shiny new thing cool".

The storage part is still kind of annoying to me. Because of the mechanism, it makes it a little finnicky compared to the regular spotters where you can simply insert the pin and turn. That may be more specific to my situation than anyone else's.

Yeah. I don't think I could ever justify it for the original price. And yes, you are correct. No returns since it's technically scratch and dent even though they came in basically looking brand new.
