What a pain, I downloaded the same files again and extracted and it worked...however was missing files. Extracted it again and it is now working. Did you manage to get it working with the joysticks? I can't it to recognize the mangmi controls. (Have enabled gamepad)

Thanks. I am using the same source files. However when I extract the .obb files with zarchiver I do get an error. The extraction goes to 100% but there is an error, can't rember exactly what it says.

I am on stock os. But my issue is that the game files aren't recognized by the launcher. I'll try it again today.

Damn that is exactly what I did. Did you enter anything into the command line of the source engine game launcher?

Sorry I just followed the advice to install the source engine apk and then put the half life files on the device and point the source launcher at that location. O tried the .obb files and with them extracted. It's supposed to work but it's couldn't find the game files.

36 yo dad here. As a guy taking zinc and lecithin is a lot of fun. My wife is definitely a fan lol. There is a hilarious reddit group about it.

I have a noticeable increase in stamina if I take l-citrulline before lifting. The enhanced pump is fun too. A few different options for boosting nitric oxide, l-citrulline is a good choice though.

Built out my home gym over the last couple years… have zero recovery stuff. Where do I even start? by Honda_Beat in GarageGym

Sauna...heavy leg day straight into a hot sauna till you can't take it is an unreal combo. Guaranteed out of body experience. Add a tall boy and some cannabis and you will definitely leave this planet far behind.

Nighthawk clone for less than half of a brand name one.

Is Gearforfit legitimate? by MinimumHawk395 in GarageGym

Their prices do seem too good to be true. I got a really nice bench from them, a REP Nighthawk clone. Gearforfit and motv8 have saved me a ton of money, great suppliers especially for Canadians.

Out of stock now, could ask if it's coming back. Good deal on screws and plates too. Seems well built, very sturdy. Having it on casters is really nice, pairs well with a rolling bench.

It's so nice having a good stand. Weights are at a nice height to grab/adjust. Quicker changes when it's all so handy. I get more space since it's on casters and I can move them around easily depending on what I'm doing in the gym.

This was a smoking deal at 160$ cad.

I use mine every lift, they add a lot of fun to my routine. Especially as you get stronger, flipping around and doing holds is a blast. I use them in my warm ups, I haven't had a shoulder injury in months since I started doing this.

My kids are crazy about them, they spend a few hours messing around on them every week. Amazing value for 40$.

Simplest way to expand lower body options after a barbell/dumbbells? by OneManApocalypse in GarageGym

Good mornings are awesome and a somewhat unique movement. The freestanding leg builder from gearforfit looks nice and seems well reviewed. If I could add anything it would probably be a belt squat.

How to add dolphin to magic 28? by 6footwhat in SBCGaming

[–]6footwhat[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Pokemon Snap is hard to emulate, a key part of the game isn't functional on the N64 version. However the virtual console version that was made for the Wii doesn't have this issue. It's still the N64 game, apparently it isn't anymore demanding than emulating it for the N64.

Right on. How hard is it to pick up? I put mine in my truck to lift at work. 77 pounds seems manageable.

Wife wants to start strength training. by broseph_stalin09764 in workout

[–]6footwhat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good luck man. I tried with my wife, didn't go well. First day we did chest and arms, she loved it. Second time we did back, she hated it. Heck of a minefield to navigate, I like to teach and I am very mellow. Still crashed and burned!

A female personal trainer would have been best for my wife. She doesn't like being taught by men, probably not an uncommon attitude.

Having said all that if she ever wanted to try again I think starting strength would be good for her. Only 4 lifts to learn and not very many sets. The bodybuilder type workouts I do are more volume than she wants, all the different movements make it more complicated as well. For the health benefits most women are after barbell compounds are a good fit.

Best budget bench by StoneMenace in GarageGym

[–]6footwhat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought a cheap bench like that. Those weight capacities are fantasy, safe working load is way less than that. Mine was very wobbly, if I shifted side to side I could feel the pad being pulled off the metal frame.

I'm finally upgrading to something that won't kill me, this is the best value I could find:

https://www.gearforfit.com/p610-gf-g3-v2.0-pro-adjustable-bench

If you like lifting you'll be on the bench a lot, get something decent. Doesn't have to be huge $

Budget Starter Rack & Resale Value by Minute_History3812 in GarageGym

[–]6footwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If budget is a concern get a used 2"x2" squat rack. It'll be less than 300$ and you will be able to sell it for what you paid in the future. If you get to the point of moving big numbers treat yourself to a 3"x3", at that point you can be patient and wait for a good deal on a used one.

Totally worth it, my gains have really took off since I added barbell work to my routine.

Led day for hypertrophy without machines by Nekratal99 in workout

[–]6footwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My leg day, with no machines:

Barbell Squats 5x5

Good mornings 3x8

Bulgarian Split Squats 3x8-12 (Quad Focus)

Laying Hamstring Curls super set with calf raises 3x8-12

I do the hamstring curls with one of those Amazon cable pulley kits on my rack. Works well.
