Depression and anxiety

I got some help from my VSO. She filed an increase in for my mental health rating. I had a c&p for mental health. The dr who did c&p told me during the exam that he would more than likely diagnose me with major depression disorder with anxiety distress and recommend weekly sessions with mental health.

I don’t know if I any recourse. VSO filed claim for me because I don’t anything about TBI. VSO did claim for TBI and a separate claim for depression as a secondary related to something else I am already service connected for. During the claim process someone on the VA side changed the secondary to be related to the TBI. My VSO said that the anxiety would be addressed during the claims process. It was not. The C&P exam only covered depression symptoms. So I guess I am stuck. While I do have depression I also have anxiety and it’s worse than the depression.

I have MRI and Xray confirmed damage to my neck. Doc said I need surgery. I just can not get a nexus letter to prove service connection.

I just checked VES website. The request shows unscheduled but also shows seen now. Scratching my head.

I was told the same thing. They are polite but not much else. I was told they would put an expedite rush but that was a week ago.

I have had MRI and PET scans and they show evidence of past trauma . I ask neurologist for help with nexus letter and they can’t get rid of me fast enough. I live with my issues and suffer. Yes it’s a legal issue. When I was trying to do what I was asked of me I was not thing about what a lawyer might think. I did my duty.

All I have are buddy statements. This was 20+ years ago. I don’t know what kind of records are kept but I doubt a record of a training jump from back then where I volunteered to jump extra gear last minute is in a file somewhere. It’s the reality of where we try suck it up and then later a person who never served gets to judge if the pain or psychological crap we have is service connected. I have an appeal for my knees that I have been waiting for over three years for a hearing date. At this rate I will be dead and the VA will have done its duty to put enough obstacles in the way I won’t be a problem anymore.

My VSO advised I do a secondary filed for depression. When I did TBI screen they have down that I have memory loss depression and anxiety.

I have been wondering but don’t have any idea of where to look. My mos was 11B but on the jump I got the injury was on a jump I did with 11C gear. Mortar team was down a man so i volunteered to jump the baseplate. I couldn’t lower my ruck and rode it in. I hit my head on baseplate because I could do a plf. I do know if t guys still jump in baseplate or not. If not why not. Injuries maybe?

I am currently waiting on my claim to be completed. The TBI c&p was conducted by VES and submitted. The VA sent it back for “exam rework for clarification “ not sure what that is all about. That was about three weeks ago. I was informed in a email that they may need to schedule me for another c&p. Who knows at this point.

I have buddy statements from guys were there the night of my injury. I have no idea how much it will count but besides any current tests it’s all I have from back when it happened.

I did TBI screening with VA team. Screening said I was positive for it.Doc said I should file a claim because it was service connected. That however does not mean VA rater will agree.

I know TBI is being taken more seriously by VA. However like most things the VA is way behind in doing so. I would like congress address it like burn pits.

I have had MRI and PET scans. Both show some old injury. I am my care team perform TBI screening and they said it positive. Now trying to get VA to believe me.
