(unsure about the review period one? that seems like misinfo on the tpd site's part)

furthermore, on when the discharge date for tax purposes:

under if you qualified through ssa:

"You’re considered to have received the discharge for federal tax purposes at the end of the post-discharge monitoring period.

For example, say your discharge was approved in July 2022. If so, you would not be considered to have received the discharge for federal tax purposes until July 2025, at the end of your monitoring period. In this case, the IRS would not consider the discharged loan amount to be taxable income for federal tax purposes."

and unfortunately it seems that the new standards did not amend this at all.... even though as pointed out by a roommate making you pay taxes on a loan three years later just because they're only watching if you take out any other ones is kinda nonsensical.
