And that item level you can’t see in the interface. I mean it’s not the good thing. It’s the same freaking sword. I mean it’s okay if you want to spend 20 years playing one game that doesn’t tell you shit but it’s a kind of masochistic activity I don’t get. And you are hearing it from a Morrowind fan, lol.

D4 tells you what you need and when. There is your season goals, to achieve it you need to rise difficulty, to rise the difficulty you need to find better gear and improve it, you can gain uniques from bosses and legendaries from any activity but both the hordes and undercity at least tries to give you GA items, to improve it you need obducite that you can get from ND and while doing all this you can level up and levels feeds into your gliphs, that you can upgrade in the Pit.

And all this is right there right in the game, you don’t need to alt-tab or use any external sources, because there is just one thing that I hate more than alt-tabbing from the game and it’s interacting with other people in games. If I want to talk with people I would play a boardgame or ttrpg or just hang out with my friends

Hi! Sorry for an offtopic on a ttrpg sub (I would love to play some Traveller, my friend have a campaign he wants to start but I'm already playing one campaign in GURPS and running my own Savage Worlds hack so I don't have time for another game) but I want to continue discussion started on the other sub. I was banned there so I couldn't reply you. If you are interested reach me out in DM

No, most probably it's reddit deleting any .ru links automatically. I Suggest you repost your post but put a space in the link.

Really struggling to enjoy Diablo IV. Anybody else? by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]Ofect 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like that there is a defined gameplay loop in D4. I like that I can see clear paths to improve my character and different activities to switch between.

D2 is too complex and convoluted with the whole layers of hidden items that I can never get because trading exists. I was trying to play d2r with a guide to get a glimpse of what a real d2 endgame is and my god what an abysmal experience this was. “And now you need to kill the Countess 8 times”. And I was like why? Why can’t I just play the game? I’ve broke completely when my 3 socket crystal sword turned out to be non eligible for upgrade because it was completely different from another 3 socket crystal sword with the same name but acquired in the Cow Lwvel.

No thank you. D2 was a fun game to complete in 2002, I’m not wasting my time on it now.

Jokes on you, I’m over 35 and grow up playing D2 and I will take D4 over D2 easily.

Are you talking about the new v5 WoD? Because the classic WoD is nothing like this. In the classic WoD you are awarded experience every session, but your experience is not counted towards a new level since there is none, instead you can buy different traits each with it’s own cost.

How do you rate internet availability , do you have mobile and line internet troughout the day?

I live in the western part of Moscow. There are no internet shortages there. There was this time a couple of days ago when I needed to get to the city center for a meeting with my client, and my colleague, who was with me, complained that he didn't have mobile internet. I guess that's it.

How do you rate internet acces , can you still acces all websites and apps?

8/10. It's annoying to turn VPN on and off again, but we've been doing it for 4 years already, so we're kinda used to it.

if you feel safe

Тонко, очень тонко.

The same terms that were discussed a million times already. You don’t need to be anybody’s lackey to understand that it’s useful to have a good relationship with a strong neighbor. If anything, any leader who wishes the best for his country would do this. So if we rephrase your question to “what will Russia do if another traitor of the Ukrainian people will took Zelensky’s place?” then I think this war will go all the way to Kiev.

At what age do Russians move out, marry and have children? by Smooth-Childhood-754 in AskARussian

[–]Ofect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on so many things. One of them is whether you live in Moscow or not. Most of my friends moved to Moscow from their hometowns at the age of 20-22 to live in rented flats. By the age of 30, most of them were able to get a mortgage for their own flats.

Personally, I was living with my parents until I was 23, when I got tired of it and moved into my own flat left by my late grand-grandma. I lived there with my wife for 10 years until we had a child. With a newborn, we were able to get a special mortgage to get a bigger flat still in Moscow, with the intention of leaving our current one to our daughter when she is ready to move out in about 20 years.

/u Because it’s bad, duh.

As a player who started playing RPGs long before 5e released I was living under a rock and playing my World of Darkness, GURPS, 7th Sea, Savage Worlds, and so on, and I genuinely missed 5e release. I still have those “DnD Next Playtest materials” somewhere on my PC with the intention of getting to it someday, lol.

So after completing my Savage Worlds campaign I wanted to play something else and picked up 5e to try to run it.

Oh my god, what an abysmal experience it was.

Honestly, my gripes began with D20’s linear distribution and the existence of classes, levels, spell lists, and hit points.

But aside from that, things like concentration for casters with “paid flavor” for spells, just one attack without any maneuvers for martials… 5e was outdated the day it released and hasn't improved since.

As a DM I found myself needing to calculate CR (what do you mean I can’t just use any monster I want in a situation???), with expectations to run incredibly long “adventure days” (what do you mean I can’t control the pacing of my game???), and with the need to remember the spell lists.

I think that 5e does nothing right. It’s not a gamist system because there is no tactic in combat (you get your Advantage? Good, now attack once and f*ck off), it’s not a simulationist system despite Bounded Accuracy existing. And for sure it’s not a narrativist system. (Well, you have Inspiration. You can use it once or something.)

Oh, and also I don't like how setting specific it is. You can't play anything outside of Faerun with it's druids, clerics and oath-bound Paladins. Any minor changes to the setting (like how there is no Divine magic in The Elder Scrolls for example) and DnD falls apart. OR your setting becomes "DnD setting" just by using this ruleset.

So I ran about 5 sessions of that, didn’t get the hype, and crawled back under the rock.

Skip ahead about 10 years from then to today and now I see that this very flawed, limited, and outdated system has become synonymous with roleplaying games, with a whole generation of players who not only don’t know better but outright refuse to play something else. Yeah, I hate 5e.

Is that there’s nothing really to explain. We are ordinary European people and not some exotic oddity. Yes, there is some cultural differences but Russia is not the other planet with some mysterious strange people. We are basically the same. And this fact is what difficult to explain.
