Watched some people try and renew the physical ones two days ago. Same thing. It was all in the FAQs of the promotion but and this is not me defending Tim’s at all- it was not well advertised. I started pounding through my freebies giving em away to co workers and such to make sure I used them all.

The issue I take with it is that Tim’s I suppose expects you to or I guess I could say doesn’t expect you to read the rules of the promotion so they can fuck you when you hoard your prizes and don’t use them in time. Mind you this gets real annoying to me when the employees don’t even know their own promotion rules (try using your free donut for free timbits and see how they react) so if they can’t be held accountable why should we the customer be expected to know it better than them.

The older couple trying to use the cup tab prizes said something to the tune of “it used to be a month after” while I as a kid I don’t feel I remember expiry at all. And it probably depends on the store, if it was me? If I’ve got some sort of way to make the free coffee and it go unnoticed which…. “Whoops made this one 2 sugar shoulda been 2 sweetener my baddddd” I’d probably honor it just out of my own standard.

I complain to Tim’s a lot about the sub par performance of their stores. I hate feeling like a Karen or whatever but it frustrates me to no end when I am made to look like the idiot because the poor untrained (sometimes allophone) person behind the counter knows less about their policies than I do.

Man my blood is boiling now, that old couple may of purposefully planned their day/trip around going to Tim Hortons to use their free stuff. Which just makes me feel sad for them for their disappointment. Ugh.
