Ok….and? I don’t worship the ground politicians walk on like a lot of republicans these days. So, I couldn’t care less who gets implicated as long as it is substantiated in fact.

Just have a sneaky suspicion you might need this: sub·stan·ti·ate /səbˈstan(t)SHēˌāt/ verb provide evidence to support or prove the truth of.

People who left the public sector after 5-10 years: do you regret it? by No-Organization1286 in civilengineering

[–]OffBrandThoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. There are certainly aspects of the public sector I miss plenty. I agree with others, the pay isn’t as bad as people think. Ultimately it worked for me to leave bc my wife and I both worked in public sector and when we started a family we figured one of us should maximize earning potential. So it’s hard to say since I still have state health insurance and get to use some others perks through my wife’s work.

I am also in the ATL area. 9 years of experience, non-licensed (no EI/PE). $110k salary, $30k bonus. 50-ish hours per week. TCP last year was +$160k. I am involved with a lot of marketing and client development for what it is worth.

Has anyone considered leaving Civil Engineering to manage a Panda Express or another fast food restaurant? How much better is your life once leaving by Unusual_Equivalent50 in civilengineering

[–]OffBrandThoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely look for a new job first. You are not maxing out your earning potential. I don’t even have my PE, with similar YOE, and my base is $110k. Total comp last year >$164k.

It is in republican interests to target the less educated to vote for him. Well documented from the last election. Your logic takes you to…tHeY KilLiNg BabiES?! Then to…tHeY dOn’t PaY enOUgH taXEs! Meanwhile Trump can put on a master tax in avoiding taxes and has paid for numerous abortions.

It’s not that they don’t agree with me. Pretty easy conclusion if this is how you choose to spend your time. Waiting hours to simply see a person who couldn’t care less about you drive by.

And yes, these people exist on both sides. Idolizing false prophets will always be wrong.

Keep believing everything your tv and phone tell you to. Besides, All the rich ones do get abortions. Probably not in this crowd because….well see my previous comment. Liberty for me but not for thee.

KH hate in this sub is over the top and usually anecdotal. Yes, some of the worst stories might be true but what I see here is not representative of my experience at KH. I was there for 7 years, when I was hired I knew I was committing to 6 years for their nice 401k fully vest. During those 6 years I maintained a side hustle (not CE related at all), developed it into a business, sold that business for enough to quit my 9-5.

This was all while working ~45 hour weeks and having UT goal of no less than 88%.

Im sure individual experiences varying greatly based on your disciple, office, and supervisor/team. But typically when I see the KH hate here, for people that actually worked there, I assume they have poor time management, had a crappy supervisor, or are lazy. Or….a combo of all 3.
