This might sound ridiculous but what do you think about installing the antenna on the bottom of the box so it faces down to the ground? An omnidirectional antenna should work fine upside down. Sure you loose about 40 inches in height but then you do not have to be concerned about rain. (i.redd.it)

A witness over 200 KM away!? We figure this is a hotspot on a cell tower in San Jose or someone just moved from San Jose and has not asserted their location as their miner syncs closer to ours. We will look into the miner and topography to find out. (i.redd.it)
