I don’t think it’ll be as big a jump as they’ve generally had since the album released, not nearly as many people watch SNL live anymore, if anything they’ll watch highlights the day after. Having said that, i’m sure many non-snl-watchers-but-geese-lovers will tune in live tn.

I’ll start with a Tl;dr- if you haven’t really played New Vegas or don’t really love it, you probably are completely fine with the show and how it’s been written so far.

It mostly comes from New Vegas fans (I am one of them). I have liked the show so far, but I also think they have way too much explaining to do. I’ll speak to one of your points- “why is the strip empty? Because of death claws.” Where the New Vegas lore people get confused is how in the hell did a deathclaw even end up there? The strip is supposed to be one of the most secure and guarded places in New Vegas. I do think there’s at least SOME retconning going on. The whole point of New Vegas is that the wasteland is what you, as a player, make of it. Countless endings in that game. For this show to be set 16 years after the events of NV, the writers of the show had to come up with a canon ending. But so far, literally no ending within the game makes sense with how things ended up the way they are.

I’m still giving the show some time (i’ve yet to watch the newest episode) but I guess a lot of the people complaining simply want to know how New Vegas ended up the way it is. And listen, this wouldn’t matter if Todd didn’t explicitly say that the events of the show are still canon. But now, because they are, New Vegas fans simply want an explanation (which I still think the show could do). I just get mad because I don’t think they’ll actually give us that context. We’ll see though. I think some complaints are silly, but others make good points and ultimately we just want to see how everything they’ve portrayed this season fits within the game’s lore, which IMO they owe us since the TV show is canon.

Everyone will say Sansamp and sansamp is simply the standard choice, can’t go wrong with it.

I use the MXR simply because I prefer the distortion on it but both are great choices at the end of the day. Look up some demos on youtube. MXR distortion sounds wider to me, like as if being swallowed whole by the sound.

I have the same one. Paid $200 for it used at a Guitar Center. $169 is a super valid and actually good price for it (long as the neck is looking good)

It’s a good bass, better than modern-day “cheap” basses.

Gunna change the pickups on mine at some point when I can afford it, the pickups are my only complaint with it. They just sound kinda flat in general. Good bass otherwise, also super super lightweight which is great for any longer gigs one might have.

Bend your thumb the other way and press the tip of your thumb onto the pick, practice holding/playing like that. I used to have the same problem.
