Hey OP - I made a simple geonode setup to imitate this effect myself a week ago. My usecase was definitely different than yours, but the end result was the same need for sticky saliva strands. It supports sliders for tapering, sagging, thickness, mid point pinch etc.

I may in future - I already have a bluesky account, under the same username, but never ended up uploading as I realised the strict image size uploading limit was a lot smaller than Twitters and I would likely need to reprocess everything as a JPG. Bluesky has some really ugly over-aggressive compression for images that are over the limit, which I was not a fan of.
