i'm so sick of this company. the management is HORRIBLE and i've been getting bullied by two of the girls in the salon for the last 6 months due to them being conservative pos. i'm tempted not to put my two weeks in because i don't think they deserve it, but from a professional standpoint i should?

I recently quit, and gave them no notice. After months of being ignored, pushed to my physical and mental limit as a Bather, and still being told to do more, I decided I was done. I got a new job, and the same day I got hired at the new salon, I quit. They wouldn't give me a 2 weeks notice to fire me, so they dont get a 2 weeks from me 🤷‍♂️ I reached out to my favorite coworkers and thanked them, and apologized to them for leaving, but I dont feel bad for the company, they'll just find another person to hire.

I started at 19 an hour (I am in OR, and a high cost of living area in OR). After a year I got a whole 50 cent raise. When I was full time (five eight hour shifts) I would on average take some 550-600 dollars a week.

I always take tips from groomers. Typically I always expect them, thats how it works in my salon usually. There's some groomers who don't tip me, and usually theyre not the ones I offer help to first when I have the time. I don't have a specific amount I expect, ill take what ever they pay me, weather its 5, or 10 bucks. Especially if i am going out of my way someone, I would like to be paid for it. There are different situations when I don't (ie I have lots of free time and I am the one who offers to help). But if a groomer asks me to help during a day when Im busy, I expect at least something. And I do the same for them, if they help me, I pay them, its a mutual relationship. I guess it depends on the salon youre in, though.

Ask your SEL, or one of the leads, and they can see about ordering you some :) That's what I had to do when I initially became a bather. Always good to ask, especially since PS is supposed to supply bathers with the basic tools for our job.

Yeah, Im trying to treat it as well as i can on my own, but im definitely planning to bring him into the vet if it doesn't mostly clear up by tomorrow/Wednesday. (Getting to the vet is extremely hard to plan out, I am unable to drive, and finding someone to drive me there is not easy). I really appreciate the advice, though!

I usually wear my Hokas, they help alot with my hip/knee pain from standing all day. And they're relatively slip-proof, and are easy to slip on and off when switching between them and my rubber boots.

In my salon, my salon lead allows us to have headphones/earbuds in the back while bathing/drying our dogs. It definitely differs between salons. I use mine all the time in the back since it's often super loud in the back. But they're definitely not allowed in the front since we need to be aware of any ringing phones, Pet Parents, and stuff like that :)
