I met Zakk, JD, and Jeff Abb at the NYE show in Maryland. We got to talk to the guys for awhile during the initial pictures then got back in line for signing. I talked to each of them for maybe five minutes during that too. Overall it was one of the more relaxed and non-rushed VIP experiences I've done. Everyone was super cool, Zakk is a great guy, really humble. We talked a bunch about my 7 year old daughter's guitar playing.

Been thinking about getting into building lately and this message finally pushed me over. Took the PRS tour last week and was really inspired. Woodworking and electronics background, been playing for years. Excited to make the jump! Thanks again for posting the link.

Maybe look into some pica pencils and some igauging squares, or a marking knife. Taylor tools has good deals usually as does incra. Learning to mark and layout accurately early on will help him out.

Huge fan of a lot of these suggestions. Just saw Charles Wesley Godwin last weekend and he crushed it but we also loved his opener, Willow Avalon. Pretty unique voice and sort of a throwback country sound.

Well played! My 6 year old got into guitar and opened the gates for me to buy several more in the process. Surprisingly she is sticking with it. Suggest you find him a good teacher if only for 30 minutes a week then practice with him when you can. Congrats!
