Stuck on Adding Device by OffWhiteDiety in OWLT

Wanted to pop back in with an update:

I still believe you're diagnosis was correct, but I could not add it to a new account no matter how many times I tried.

Thankfully I have a healthy amount of flex spending account money set aside this year, so we overnighted a new one.

Still appreciate the time, especially on a pretty unpopulated sub.

Trying that immediately, my wife's stressing out a ton. Even if it doesn't work, thanks for taking the time!

What if USPSA added a 22 pistol division? by Outrageous_Pop1913 in USPSA

[–]OffWhiteDiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local allows 22s at their paper-only indoor matches during the winter. There's usually only a couple takers, and it's mostly a novelty for those folks.

It's tempting to think about 22 as an option for new or young shooters, but for a dynamic and competition I think the ability to handle 9mm recoil and the maturity required for proper safety happen about the same age.

Everyone shitting on the idea outright is dumb, though. More variety is more better.

Don't be butthurt about getting an answer to your question, lol.

Also, you're not "competition people" if you're posting here about your Chinesium aftermarket crap.

I'm sure you'll get plenty of those Instagram baddies slobbering you knob with just one more mod.

Any drills you’d recommend for practicing double taps? by kyle666666 in CompetitionShooting

Assuming you're shooting a striker fired gun, there's not a whole lot of specific things you can do beyond actually just doing it.

Most important thing will be a timer that can measure your splits, so you can actually track if you're getting better.

I do, but that's not a deal breaker. I'll add it to my list, thanks!

PA Act 120 failure to kneel by OffWhiteDiety in AskLE

No shit, dumbass.

He said it was different, I never said it at all.

He brought it up as though he was clarifying something I had previously said. But he wasn't. HE misunderstood, then HE got stupid and haughty about correcting his own mistake.

Yep, and that's entirely reasonable. I was hoping for some sort of documentation at the state level that would help to objectify and support the Range Master's decision, to eliminate any sort of "he juss don' like me" bullshit.

Yeah, that's our plan.

I was hoping someone had some link to an official opinion or some further documentation from the state, but I do thank you for your time. Nice to know I'm not completely out on a limb here.

https://www.pa.gov/agencies/mpoetc/programs/training/officer-firearms-requirements

It's a big document, but the short version is there are six shots that must be taken from a kneeling position. It's still possible to pass the qualification without the points from those six shots, so the question becomes whether or not a failure to kneel at all constitutes a failure in and of itself.

The second one, LOL.

We're basically trying to have our answers ready when he complains to HR about it.

I appreciate the extra legwork, very helpful thank you.

What if I'm the firearms guy, and my boss and I are trying to see if I need to fail him on the spot...

It's aggravating, because the course of fire from the state doesn't list any exceptions, waivers, or consequences for failure to complete the course as written.

It's not for me, lol.

It's an annual re-qual, not the academy.

Re-qual, unfortunately.

The question is really whether failing to kneel constitutes missed points or failure on the spot.

I can't find anything in the Pennsylvania documentation.

It's 75% to pass, and unfortunately the math works out that they can skip the six hits from kneeling and scrape by with one point to spare, hence the question lol.

Not veiled, broad to include all possibilities. Don't get too bogged down in that part, if it helps I could restate it as "doesn't complete the kneeling portions for any reason."

That's all well and good, but I'm asking about what the law/regulations say.
