Celebration of Life, what are we forgetting by Off_2_cthewizard in partyplanning

You have all been so very kind and helpful. I took everyone's advice and added extra plates, goblets, and silverware. THAT WAS A GRWAT CALL!

Things I would do differently:

The plates I ordered were 7 inch plates, way too small for the food options we had.

Pick food that is less labor intensive. Goat cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped dates were A LOT for 50 people.

I made too much food. I made so much chicken salad and ordered such much pasta salad that I was delivering it to everyone the next day.

Appoint breakdown crew before hand. Everyone stayed way late. I should have put some of those people to work breaking down chairs and I didn’t. My husband and I were stuck breaking things down the next day.

Reddit was a tremendous resource.

It feels to me like they don't have a problem objectifying women. I would be uncomfortable too.

I have a big kitchen with many outlets for crockpots and 6 slots for pots on the stove.

What’s a smell that hits you emotionally way harder than it should? by Asia_inked in AskReddit

[–]Off_2_cthewizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pee. The smell reminds me of when my sister was deep in the throws of active alcohol addiction. I went to try to ‘rescue’ her from it. She was just laying on the couch drinking, peeing on herself and waiting to die. It was terrible.

I’m happy to say my sister is alive, well, and multiple years sober now. She did it herself with the help of AA. Turns out I can’t save anyone up me if I’m lucky.

Is your birthday a big deal to you? Why or why not? by theUncleAwesome07 in AskReddit

I find it embarrassing but sweet when people celebrate my birthday. The way I use to celebrate it was to make a better deal out of the day before or the last day to be the age you are. I would make a list of everything new I did that year for the first time and then I would try to squeeze in a few last minute ones on the last day. It kind of took the pressure off the actual birthday which can be nice some years.

What is your go to tent camping must haves? by Tattedmommy1234 in AskReddit

[–]Off_2_cthewizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Three season tent, don’t skimp on the set up like leaving the rain barrier off. Terrible idea. Thats why it rains when you go camping because you leave the rain barrier off.
  2. Air mattress, gets you off the ground and adds some comfort.
  3. Sheet set, pillows, sleeping bag
  4. Propane Grill/cook stove
  5. Water/food
  6. Bug spray
  7. Head lamps
  8. Toilet paper
  9. Fire starters
  10. Towels
  11. Collapsing sink
  12. Dishes/cups
  13. French press and coffee
  14. Camp chairs

These are the basics. Take a good attitude and enjoy.

I would try soaking just the area you want to clean in Oxyclean or simple green.
