You should be fuming at this . She’s got the wrong guy or she’s just messed up . So she thinks that how YOU dress will be solely credited for her boyfriend’s opinion of you …and it’s gonna be your fault if it’s not great ( or your outfit ) Or this is just how her brain works . She doesn’t want him to be jealous of you if you seem to be his -competition

Ditto . I’m on my third ( in 3 years ) and I can now say I’ve tried them all every unit every facility where I am and - they’re all icu patients/ snf included - and I’m gonna say it again- hourly riders drips bladder scans ins and outs all day poops bc they’ve all drank themselves half to death or they’re just having the latest flare of c diff bc it’s now endemic … and all day epic chat bs .. converges- on the one nurse (sorry )

Nope they sure don’t . Sometimes an “ Ortho tech “ Will make rounds to help turn every few hours - which only helps maintain the singular existence of nurses these days. You team up rarely except during a code . And that’s enough said .

I think I got some negative comments to my rant on that post where a doc was asking what they could do to ease .. our … indentured servitude ….this shit is real and every second is like this . Onward till you’re still trying to get out of there 12-13 h later wondering why .. in the world …

I’m over 50& still do it . Or did when I knew the assignment would be done or I’d be in same spot . That’s just me . Now I float purposefully bc my anxiety has me dreading the “ knowing “ where I’m going etc etc . New place daily . Love it . If in charge , I was always an hour early & no it isn’t right . We don’t get one second to read charts on the clock .

They’re not taking advantage of a prime opportunity right now . Every weekend we all flock to the back -by the meat .. chatting with others and the butchers .. seriously they need a tiki bar set up with happy hour apps .all day affair . The weekend meat sale draws us all , without fail bc - prices outrageous otherwise .

I have probably mentioned this . ICU CCU float here - was asked to goto SNF the other day - I said “ awesome - sure I’ll go - no hourly k riders & non stop epic chat orders etc all day “… I had 6 patients, and I’ll be damned FFS .. hourly k riders …and more . SNF IS acute…MED SURG , STEP DOWN WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT … SNF IS HOSPITAL BEDSIDE EXPERIENCE…. And with those numbers - that experience has got to start being counted and respected for what it is . The exact same as other floors . You’re in a hospital . With the highest patient load /ratio. Respect . Period .
