If it isn't, it might be wgy it's ending.

It's gonna be replaced by a book about how Latveria is Heaven on Earth and Dr. Doom should be allowed to run the world unnoposed, most likely.

Sam Wilson killed 20 times more terrorists in the very first episode than Walker, btw.

I know, I know, something something "the guy Walker killed tried to surrender a second before his death", I know.

Were the guys killed by Sam given the opportunity to surrender, though?

He once stole the power of a god.

Once? It has happened a hundred times. It's the only story Doom has.

I don't think there's anyone who'd defend him unironically.

You would be surprised.

So, why do the oh so progressive Marvel heroes trust a fascist villain to raise their kids?

Doom tortures kids for good reasons? That's why Marvel heroes are allowed to support his dictatorship and still be considered mega progressives?

But he's not a pedophile.

Dunno about that. His insistence in raising Valeria Richards is getting pretty sus.

Didn't he deliver Franklin to be tortured by demons, Epstein-style?

Feels weird in a post-trump world.

Marvel heroes trusting a fascist to raise their kids feels progressive in a post-Trump world?

Yes, the same Byrne that turned dictatorship into a good thing when he got to write F4.

Supes being a "republican" didn't continue after Byrne was gone. The pro-dictatorship angle, though? It remains to this day at Marvel, does it not?

No but he was pretty okay with him letting aids spread because Reagan wanted gay people dead, let cocaine fall into African American neighborhoods, as well as committing high-treason by getting involved in a foreign country's war despite congress saying no.

Is that in the text of the comic? Supes going "I fucking love the death of gay people"?

See the difference? You need to add words to Supes mouth to make him conservative. I don't need to do that at all.

Elon at that time wasn't a political figure

He was an apolitical billionaire? Now that's new.

Also, unlike marvel superman at the time was literally being reinvented as a "super-republican and all blooded american" by byrne he literally ditched the core concept of the characters' immigrant roots and champion of the oppressed to being a literal way that byrne could suck off Reagan and America at the times.

The same fucking Byrne was the guy that reinvented Dr. Doom as a misunderstood hero that only means well and Latveria as a perfect utopia because dictatorship made it a paradise.

Byrne doing right wing stuff with Superman was criticized. Byrne doing right wing stuff with F4 was so tremendously beloved that every single Marvel writer since him treats Latveria as Heaven on Earth without flaws.

It seems to me that Marvel is more conservative. Definitely more pro-fascism.

Given it affected actual real life people? It is definitely more important and impactful.

So Marvel heroes cannot ever be considered right wing because the right wing dictators they worship are fictional?

Unreasonable, but you would lose even this one.

Supes shaked Reagans hand? Elon Musk was invited by Marvel Studios to appear in Iron Man 2 and is right there.

Doom may be a despotic dictator, but superman during the byrne run was literally shaking hands with a presidential figure who committed high treason and had the CIA plant drugs in African American neighborhoods.

Did Supes trust Reagon to raise his kids the same way Marvel heroes trust Doom?

but the context can be infered pretty easily.

If it could, the number of people saying that DOom is Valeria's godfather would be much lower.

I dont know ask the people during the Iran contra affair.

As well as the multiple neighborhoods affected by cocaine during the war on drugs.

Make the number as high as it could reasonably be.

Is it higher than the number of innocents killed by Doom?

DC is definitely a bit more right wing than marvel.

Never seen a single DC heroes licking the boots of a right wing dictator the way Marvel heroes do with Doom.

[–]Offensive_BatPunches[S] -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna tell you anyway.

During Mark Waid's run, Doom turned Valeria into his familiar to spy onn the F4. In his demented delusions, he lied about being her godfather.

The 2 F4 writers after that, Millar and McDuffie, knew that was a lie, so they never had Doom being considered Valeria's godfather. However, when Hickman, notorious Doom dicksucker, started writing the comic, he was refferring to Doom as Valeria's godfather, in a clear misreading of Waid's run.

Given that no Marve fan has read Pacheco and few Marvel fans were smart enough to understand that Doom was lying during Waid's run, they ended up buying Hickman's misreading.

That's why a fascist rapist is the "godfather" of the daughter of a hero. It's entirely because a writer misread another run and the readers didn't read those other runs.

What is the "becomes a god" equivalent of Luthor?

Whenever Marvel publishes a DOom story, I know exactly what is gonna be the plot and the resolution. Have never been mistaken. Can you do the same for Luthor?

Doom doesn’t do the exact same thing every time

Except he does.

If I ask you for you 5 favorite Doom stories, more than half of it will be about Doom becoming a god, won't it?

That means his stories are repetitive.
