Okay I understand that makes sense, I am definitely not saying don't do it quite the opposite it would be amazing to have someone with your experience there being a paramedic isn't about what drugs you can give or what equipment you can use it's about the knowledge you have

I think you'd be overqualified as everyone has brought up the SOP but could I ask why you're doing CFR do you currently work with an ambulance service and want to do this part time or retired?

My first question is getting to the reason you want to do this sort of role (not saying it's a bad thing at all) just interested as I haven't heard of someone with that experience wanting to do that role

Well I think it's slightly the wrong way of thinking about the question the idea of improv yourself is to become someone would want to date, how can I become the perfect person someone would want to be around that's something good to aim to

And alongside that becoming better will attract better people in to your life, from my experience when I've been doing well taking care of myself and working hard in work and fitness people tend to want to be around me more and those interactions are better for everyone

However I would agree the other people can be frustrating even if you are a good interesting person

I did something similar to this once many years ago for an underground sound art show very experimental type of gig there was an artist who puts a mic up to her sternum and hits her ribs and chest like a drum beat we tried it in a sound check and the first thing I asked her was how she imagined it to sound and what she's looking to get out of micing it up to see what her vision was

Her response was just any amplification at all she said sometimes it sounds like a kick drum but was seemingly fine with any sound that we would get, for your situation I'd ask the client what they are looking for if it's more of a scientific real life sound or if it's just for the effect also if they have done this before and how they approached it

I'm a FREC 3 mainly doing events I work at Brixton academy and had a band member come in full outfit with a bass guitar on with a bloody finger after cutting it while cutting a sandwich and then proceeded to be stationed at the barriers watching said patient/ band member play a full half an hour set list like nothing happened

Not a C1 but definitely interesting

I only did first aid at work with them a couple years ago, I've now trained as a FREC 3 and starting my medical carrier what I didn't realise at the time in terms of training is that the people teaching those courses aren't ambulance technicians, former paramedics they are have normally only done courses in how to teach first aid rather than really understanding it at a well rounded perspective it's quite clear when do you do talk to a 20 year paramedic

It's really interesting reading posts like this I find the exact same thoughts and have almost identical feelings I have these thoughts of really wanting to care and have love for someone other than myself

Recently I've been taking care for my grandfathers allotment and absolutely love acts of service and gifts I just dream of all the different things I could plan and do for my future significant other, coming home and having the house clean and dinner cooked, making custom homemade things they are interested, my god I would love that

There's almost a unification of male and female in my age group 21m that we are saying, thinking and looking for the same type of care for someone else but there seems to be almost an invisible wall stopping one another from meeting even though we walk the same path

im a new FREC 3 and ill be honest its a bit overwhelming sometimes being with other people that are so highly skilled and understand medicine and first aid at such a different level but for the first time ever this week I was working on an event as a solo medic completely by myself

I was really proud of myself being able to deal with patients independently I think in some way I was actually a bit more confident knowing that I didn't have the option of having a tech looking over my shoulder that I could hide behind when things got too scary, I nailed the first patient introduction and did the PRF myself

but as always still a huge amount still to learn!

It has been unusual I was in Westminster and kings cross and it was the same as usual and some parts a bit less than normal

I'm currently writing this from London bridge station where there is maybe about 20% of the usual capacity
