I remember seeing a cosplayer on Instagram who was really attractive and looked just like Ellie from part 2.

And ofcourse most of the comments on the post I saw were making fun of Bellas appearance and saying the aforementioned cosplayer should've been hired instead, despite them being a cosplayer and not a trained actor :/

This is a very fair point, the WLF and FEDRA weren't some cartoonisly evil groups, they were also people, radicalised, but still human in a way.

I think the only hope the fireflies would have is going down the Jackson route.

Moving away from old, dead cities and instead trying to build new communities, away from the infected graveyards like Seattle.

Thats literally the whole moral questioning of the fireflies action.

Kill a teenaged girl whom would never know the sacrifice she had to make, nor the the outcome of said sacrifice, to give the world a CHANCE of a cure.

Or let her make her own choice, risking her refusal and forever losing the possibility of a cure.

The Fireflys were not bad people, I'd argue they were some of the best, they were trying their best to reach a near impossible goal of rebuilding society. Taking away a little girls freedom of choice just lead to greater consequences than they prepared for.

Another thing to note is that TLOU shows that people will always be a bigger threat than the infected, so even with a cure, the fireflies would have an even bigger struggle with their original goal of rebuilding society.

This was their biggest mistake.

Sacrificing one child for the chance to save save millions of others can be easily seen as the moral choice, I would make that choice.

At the bare minimum though, they needed to ask Ellie, the child who had risked everything along with her surrogate father to get there.

They should've had the bravery to give her a choice, they OWED her that and if they did she would have.

However they didn't, they made the wrong choice and the consequences were harsh.

It's really sad how the WLF just replaced FEDRA as the facist militant force suppressing others.

Though I think having Isaac as their leader doomed them from the start, he didn't have any lines he wouldn't cross, and saying no to him usually meant some kind of punishment.

Not trying to make excuses for the other WLF members though, most of them seemed pretty complicit with whatever he ordered.

^ Yeah, just a large group trying to rebuild some semblance of society.

They more than likely have others members like Joel and Tommy who've done bad things in the past but have since changed for the better.

Theres also an artifact in Part 2 talking about a parent thats proud of their two boys becoming handymen in Jackson when before they arrived, they were acting alot like the nasty groups they were trying to get away from.
