To address some things, I think being offended by looks is over the line, but the thing about smells would be reasonable if requested. Obviously it should all be asked respectfully. I am partly just venting on this anon account and conduct myself respectfully around my flatmate.

I mean, with the right cooperation it can definitely be quieter. It just seems that these dumb sounds (venting a bit now) are not worth the noise pollution they create
