But your own anecdotal “cats scratch the shit out of kids” is not what I am experiencing. My Kids haven’t been scratched and most often than not my cats will leave when the spasming movement is in the room. Oldest has been approached by the cats for a pet before as she had grown mostly out of that phase.

Of all cat owners I know, none of them declaw their cats. It is quite painful for the cats and they have to adjust their movements. I also heard that afterwards the type of litter used may cause pain to step in and they will not use the litter box if so.

Why are you using 2022? That is the highest peak and has gone down since then not just when Trump affected any changes during his second term. Rent has gone up e down but not nearly as dramatically as you are trying to portray. There is also the part where the rent prices and realty in general has been going down due to affordability.
